什么是英國大學排名和英國大學專業(yè)排名？
最早的英國大學排名是由《泰晤士報》(The Times)在1992年發(fā)布的。隨后多家報紙也分別發(fā)布了自己的英國大學排名。到目前為止，下列報紙發(fā)布過各類英國大學排名：《泰晤士報》(The Times)、《金融時報》(The Finacial)、《每日電訊報》(The Daily Telegraph)、《衛(wèi)報》(Guardian)。其中，《泰晤士報》的英國大學排名由于其悠久的歷史和完備的數(shù)據(jù)被大多數(shù)中國留學生所接受。從1992年至今，英國大學排名不斷更新、完善，各類指標層出不窮，至今，有110所大學分別被列入各類排名。在這里需要知道的是，有些大學如Open University，Buckingham University一類遠程高等教育大學，以及私立大學是不被列入排名的。
英國大學排名分為大學綜合排名和大學專業(yè)排名，英國大學綜合排名是評價某個學校的綜合實力，從學校的教學質(zhì)量、畢業(yè)生比例、研究水平、圖書館藏量、體育設施、就業(yè)率等無所不及。英國大學專業(yè)排名則是某學校該專業(yè)在英國各個大學之間的實力評估。MBA專業(yè)由于它的特殊性，不被列入專業(yè)排名，而被各大報紙單獨進行研究，所使用的評估標準也和普通的專業(yè)排名不同。
