常用短語(yǔ)：congratulate sb. on / upon sth. / doing sth.為某事向某人祝賀
congratulate oneself that…因……而自己慶幸
congratulations常用于祝賀語(yǔ)，后可接on，也可單獨(dú)用。
I’d like to congratulate you on your success.
對(duì)你的成功我表示祝賀。
I’d like to offer my congratulations on your success. 對(duì)你的成功我表示祝賀。
You really should congratulate yourself on your appearance.
(= You really should congratulate that you are so handsome.) 你真該為自己的外表而慶幸。

①congratulate是動(dòng)詞，作“祝賀、慶祝”解時(shí)，必須以被祝賀的人作賓語(yǔ)，構(gòu)成：congratulate sb. on sth./doing sth.表示“祝賀某人……”。另外：congratulate oneself表示“慶幸，感到幸運(yùn)”。如：
We congratulated him on his success/his having succeeded.
我們祝賀他的成功。
I congratulated myself on having escaped unhurt.
我因自己幸免于難而感到幸運(yùn)。
②congratulation是名詞，多用作復(fù)數(shù)形式。注意下列用法：
