英國(guó)布里斯托大學(xué)(University of Bristol)的歷史可追溯至1876年創(chuàng)立的布里斯托爾大學(xué)學(xué)院，后者是全英國(guó)最早平等錄取男女學(xué)生的高等教育機(jī)構(gòu)。1893年，布里斯托大學(xué)學(xué)院與布里斯托爾醫(yī)學(xué)院合并。學(xué)院與Merchant Venturers技術(shù)學(xué)院（Merchant Venturers‘ Technical College）于1909年合并成為布里斯托大學(xué)。布里斯托大學(xué)現(xiàn)已成為一所世界一流的高等學(xué)府。
