In China, it is common that 4or6 students share one room. Some owns a bathroom but some share a bathroom with others in a floor. The situation is due to China 's large population. But in the UK, most students would like to live alone. A room with a kitchen is named studio Room? a room held an independent bathroom named en suite Room? the structure that 4-8 students shared a kitchen is called cluster Flat? It seldom finds one room shared by several people in the UK.
在中國(guó)，大學(xué)宿舍一般都是4人或6人共享一間寢室，有的房間內(nèi)擁有獨(dú)立的衛(wèi)生間，而有的則是每一層的學(xué)生共享一個(gè)公共衛(wèi)生間。這與中國(guó)人口因素有很大關(guān)系。而在英國(guó)，大部分的大學(xué)生公寓都是單人間，部分室內(nèi)擁有廚房，稱為Studio Room;而另外一種只是擁有獨(dú)立的衛(wèi)生間和浴室稱為Ensuite Room，多為4-8名甚至更多學(xué)生共享一個(gè)廚房，這被稱作Cluster Flat或Flat，而我們常見(jiàn)的多人共享一間寢室(Shared Room)較少見(jiàn)。
Studio Room

Deluxe Studio is suitable for a couple to live. Studio is a common house type, from 12-13 square meters, which comes complete with bed, desk, wardrobe, bathroom, kitchen etc. However, studio kitchen is equipped with microwave, kitchenware, a basin, is not a usual kitchen but a cooking area connected with bedroom. For this reason, it should be noticed that Chinese cooking fumes filled the air in the room.
Early studio offered a single bed. But in recent years, Queen bed (or double bed, bed) is offered to cater to a pair of lovers or a couple. Nevertheless some studio offers two single beds. So to be sure to ask before booking.
In the terms of price, studio is comparably most expensive one. From 2009 to 2010 the average rents reached 132.31 pounds per week.

沒(méi)有非常標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的對(duì)應(yīng)中文翻譯，一般稱為單人套房或單間公寓，但事實(shí)上有的deluxe Studio(大型的單人套房)可以供兩人(通常是夫妻)一同居住。Studio是一種常見(jiàn)的房型，大小從12平方米到30平方米不等，房間會(huì)提供床、書(shū)桌、衣柜、衛(wèi)生間、浴室、廚房等設(shè)施。需要注意的是，Studio中的廚房事實(shí)上不是真正意義上的封閉式廚房(kitchen)，而是一個(gè)與臥室連通的烹飪區(qū)域(cooking area)，通?？梢苑胖梦⒉t、廚具、水池等，如果做中國(guó)菜可能會(huì)弄得滿屋子全是油煙。早期開(kāi)發(fā)的Studio房型里提供的床都是單人床，近年來(lái)部分學(xué)生公寓開(kāi)發(fā)商為了方便情侶和夫妻共同居住，開(kāi)始提供雙人床(queen bed, or double bed, or 3/4 size bed)。也有的Studio可能提供的是兩張單人床，因此在預(yù)訂的時(shí)候一定要仔細(xì)確認(rèn)。
價(jià)格方面，Studio是最貴的房型，09-10年全英Studio平均租金為132.31英鎊每周。

En suite Room
Compared with Studio, En suite is one without kitchen, hence less expensive than Studio. From 2009 to 2010, the average rent was 104.50 pounds per week in the UK. Amenities like bed, desk, wardrobe, bathroom are well equipped.
Generally Cluster flat is made up with 4-8 En suit rooms, which share a kitchen.

Ensuite Room也沒(méi)有非常準(zhǔn)確的中文。其實(shí)它與Studio只有一個(gè)差別，就是沒(méi)有廚房設(shè)施。同樣，一個(gè)Ensuite里面也會(huì)提供床、書(shū)桌、衣柜、衛(wèi)生間、浴室等設(shè)施。
由于沒(méi)有廚房，因此Ensuite Room的價(jià)格要比Studio便宜一點(diǎn)，09-10年全英Ensuite Room的平均租金為104.50英鎊每周。
通常住在Ensuite Room中的學(xué)生與其他4-8名學(xué)生共享一個(gè)公共的廚房，這一個(gè)整體就叫做Cluster Flat(見(jiàn)下文)。

A Cluster named Flat for short consists of several En suite rooms. Through a public door into a Cluster, there are several rooms separately with en suites. A kitchen and living room are shared together in a Cluster, designed to make living with friends really simple. Some landlords specially assist group booking, then it will be convenient to choose room mates, in order to avoid clash that inevitably may happen among neighbors.

多個(gè)Ensuite Room合在一起就稱為Cluster Flat，或簡(jiǎn)稱為Flat。一個(gè)Cluster Flat通常有一個(gè)公共的門(mén)，進(jìn)入以后有多個(gè)房間，每間房各有一個(gè)門(mén)，每個(gè)房間都是一個(gè)Ensuite，多名學(xué)生共享一個(gè)廚房和客廳。
這樣的Flat滿足了希望和朋友一起住的學(xué)生的需求。有很多學(xué)生公寓都提供團(tuán)體預(yù)訂，這樣便可以選擇自己的室友，或者選擇和文化差異不大的學(xué)生住在一個(gè)Cluster里面，避免很多沖突的發(fā)生。

If there is only one room in a flat, that's called One Bedroom Flat. Telling from Studio, one-bedroom-flat kitchen is separated from bedroom by a wall, therefore there are no worries to cook Chinese meals. But its rents are higher than Studios?

單一臥室公寓。如果一個(gè)flat里面只有一個(gè)room，那么就被稱為One Bedroom Flat，它與Studio的差別為它的廚房與臥室是有墻分開(kāi)了的。因此不會(huì)擔(dān)心做飯的油煙影響到臥室。
其價(jià)格一般會(huì)比Studio更高一點(diǎn)。

As its name tells, there are two bedrooms in a two-bedroom flat. A kitchen, living room and bathroom are shared. If two friends who want to live together and independently, two-bedroom-flat is the best choice.

雙臥室公寓。顧名思義若一個(gè)flat里面有兩個(gè)room，那么就被稱為T(mén)wo Bedroom Flat。兩人各自擁有獨(dú)立的臥室，共享廚房、客廳和衛(wèi)浴。如果你是兩個(gè)朋友想住在一起又希望各自有私人空間，那么這種就是最完美的房型了。

Twin Room/Shared Room
Two students share one room, called Twin Room/Shared Room. If you do not mind less privacy, this type of room could be taken into account.
Generally Twin Room is the cheapest among all types.
