利茲大學(xué)是一所擁有光輝的百年歷史的英國頂尖大學(xué)之一，世界百強(qiáng)名校，產(chǎn)生了6位諾貝爾獎得主，英國“常青藤”——羅素大學(xué)集團(tuán)成員，六所英國“紅磚大學(xué)”之一。利茲大學(xué)位于英國第二大金融城市利茲市市中心，其前身是建立于1831年的利茲醫(yī)學(xué)院和建立于1874年的約克郡科學(xué)院。1887年，以上兩個學(xué)校與曼徹斯特歐文學(xué)院、利物浦大學(xué)學(xué)院合并為維多利亞聯(lián)合大學(xué)。1904年利茲大學(xué)獲得皇家許可而成為獨(dú)立的大學(xué)。利茲大學(xué)也是2012倫敦奧運(yùn)會系中國奧運(yùn)代表團(tuán)主訓(xùn)練基地。
