262. want 一般用法： want to do; want sb. to do; You are wanted on the phone.
特殊注意： 在want后面用動名詞的主動形式表示被動的意思，翻譯成需要被……，如：This room wants cleaning.
263. way 一般用法： by the way; in the way; in a way; make one's way
特殊注意： in the way表示擋路、妨礙;in a way表示在某種意義上。
264. wear 一般用法： wear a new shirt; wear out
特殊注意： wear除了表示穿著之外，還可以表示佩戴，如：wear new glasses; wear a necklace; wear a flower
265. well 一般用法： well done; in the well; well worth; He is well.
特殊注意： 在表示身體好的時候well是形容詞，在表示其它意思的時候是副詞。
266. while 一般用法： a little while; for a while; once in a while
特殊注意： 可以表示對比關系，翻譯成然而，如：He likes sports while I enjoy reading.
267. win 一般用法： win the game; win a prize
特殊注意： win的賓語不能是對手，不能說win sb. in the game.
268. wish 一般用法： wish sb. good luck/all the best; wish that…
特殊注意： wish表示不能實現的愿望，因此在后面的賓語從句中要使用虛擬語氣。
269. word 一般用法： in one's own words; in other words; in a word
特殊注意： 可以表示命令、消息等，前面不加冠詞，如：Word came that I was wanted at the office.
270. work 一般用法： at work; out of work; go to work; work out; doesn't work
特殊注意： 表示工作的時候不可數;表示著作的時候可數;works表示工廠，為單復同型的名詞。
271. worth 一般用法： be worth doing; be worth 5 dollars; be worthy to be done
特殊注意： worth翻譯成某事值得被做，但后面要用動名詞的主動形式，不能用被動形式。
