Upon arrival, students should have $1,500 available to pay for immediate expenses other than tuition. Students who bring family members may use the chart below and add $4,000 for spouse or other first dependence, plus $2,000 for each additional dependent.

Second, you may be able to purchase medical insurance in your home country at a much lower cost, but you must ensure this coverage will be valid in the United States while you are a full-time student. Third, you may purchase the University’s student health plan. Fourth, you may purchase another private insurance plan., but you will be responsible to ensure the private health insurance provides reasonable coverage and acceptable payments should you submit an insurance claim. In all cases, you will be required to submit proof of insurance upon arrival to the University.
