Lawrence Ho Scholarships

Established in 2009, ‘The Lawrence Ho Scholarship and Research Fund’ will be used to provide scholarships and work placements; internships and travel bursaries; student prizes; and course development and research funding.
Undergraduate/Postgraduate Scholarships
A limited number of concurrent scholarships will be awarded to students from China, Macau and Hong Kong, who wish to study full-time undergraduate or postgraduate level programmes at Edinburgh Napier University campuses in the UK or at partner institutions in Hong Kong. These scholarships will also be made available for students who wish to study in China, Hong Kong or Macau for a semester or for a full year of their programme.
Preference will be given to students applying to study in one of the following disciplines:Marketing Management;Tourism Management ;Event & Festival Management;Hospitality Management;Interactive Media Design;Environmental Development and Research
Successful applicants will be awarded up to ￡10,000 per annum, or the cost of their course fees, whichever is the lowest, for the duration of their course. Undergraduates entering first year will be eligible to apply for a scholarship from second year, based on their academic achievements in first year. Lawrence Ho will review the applications, and in discussion with Edinburgh Napier University, will select the recipients.
Where appropriate, scholarships will include a placement in Hong Kong or Macau, with Melco International Development Ltd or its associated companies (“Melco Group”).
Usually awards made for a September start can be carried forward to the following January: please contact us for confirmation of this in writing.

Scotland's Saltire Scholarship

Edinburgh Napier has a number of scholarships for students from Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan or the United States of America.
About the scholarship
The scheme offers up to 100 awards, each worth ￡4,000. These are towards the tuition fees of successful applicants, for any one year of full-time study.
Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships is a programme of scholarships run by the Scottish Government, in partnership with Edinburgh Napier University.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible to apply, you must:
have a conditional or unconditional offer to study on an eligible course at Edinburgh Napier
full time
undergraduate, masters or PhD
creative industries, life sciences, technology, financial services and renewable and clean energy
be a citizen of Canada, People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan or the United States of America
be able to demonstrate that you can meet the costs of living in Scotland and the remaining tuition fees
not have previously studied for a full undergraduate degree in Scotland
not have previously received a Saltire Scholarship.

Chevening scholarships, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and administered by the British Council, are prestigious awards which enable international students to study in the United Kingdom.
Application process
Scholarships are offered in over 150 countries and enable talented graduates and young professionals to become familiar with the UK and gain skills which will benefit their countries.
The Chevening programme currently provides around 2,300 new scholarships each year for postgraduate studies or research at UK Higher Education Institutions.

Hong Kong Scholarship Trust

This scholarship is open to Hong Kong students who are permanent residents of the SAR and have Hong Kong as the primary place of residence, and who are not already degree-holders, to study at undergraduate level at Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland. Applicants must have an IELTS score of 6.0 or above.
Application process
Once you have recieved confirmation that you have been accepted on a full-time undergraduate degree programme you should complete the Edinburgh Napier University Hong Kong Scholarship Trust application package.
Please ensure you complete all sections in the application package:
1) Contact and Application Details——A signed recommendation letter from your school / university / employer (whichever is the most relevant) must be enclosed for this section.
2) Family Details——You must provide family and financial information, and submit adequate documents evidencing your fulfilment of the financial requirements stipulated by the Edinburgh Napier University Scholarship Trust.
3) Academic and Professional Qualifications and Extra-Curricular Activities——Photocopies of your certificates / academic transcripts for the last three years of your education must be enclosed for this section.
4) Personal accounts——This should be approximately 500 words in length and should convince the Scholarship Trust that you would be a worthy recipient of the scholarship.

Scholarship presentation and dinner
The Edinburgh Napier University Scholarship Trust holds presentation ceremonies to officially award the scholarships to recipients each year. The Scholarship Trust will also organise a dinner to welcome new scholarship recipients.

The University has partial scholarships for self-funding students from South East Asia.
About the scholarship
We have scholarships available for self-funding students from South East Asia starting a course at Edinburgh Napier in September 2017 or January 2018.
Undergraduate——Successful undergraduates will receive an award of ￡3,000 for year one of their course.
Postgraduate——Successful postgraduates will receive an award of ￡2,000.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for this award, you must be:
domiciled in Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam
be self-funding your course
holding an offer to study a full-time bachelors or masters course in September 2017 or January 2018.
If you have discounted tuition fees from a partner university have been awarded the Vietnam Scholarship, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
Selection procedure
The scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. You will be automatically considered for the scholarship and be advised of the scholarship amount you are eligible for if you meet the following selection criteria:
you hold an unconditional offer to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course at Edinburgh Napier
you have made your ￡3,500 deposit payment towards your fees.
There is no additional application process for this scholarship.

Scholarship details
This opportunity offers one undergraduate student an international scholarship to undertake their third academic year commencing 2017-18 at Shenzhen University OR a term for a current postgraduate student.
The scholarship available is ￡4,000 for undergraduate and postgraduate students applying for Chinese language courses OR ￡4,500 for undergraduate and postgraduate students applying for other modules taught in Chinese. The award will be paid directly into the student’s bank account on arrival.
Eligible students will have proficient Mandarin to undertake a course of choice OR be an undergraduate/postgraduate Mandarin student who aspires to enhance their language skills by taking a course in Mandarin.

The Garrick Scholarship supports international students wishing to undertake postgraduate study in either Screenwriting or Film at Edinburgh Napier University’s Screen Academy Scotland.
Established in 2007, ‘The Garrick Scholarship’ is provided by a Hong Kong based British businessman who is a generous supporter and adviser to Edinburgh Napier University, to enable an exceptional student from overseas to develop their talent at Screen Academy Scotland.
We have either one scholarship of ￡12,000, or 2 scholarships of ￡6,000 available to support international film or screenwriting students at postgraduate level. The scholarship is made as a contribution towards fees on the MA Film or the MA Screenwriting, and successful applicants must be able to pay the balance of international fees.
Eligibility
Applicants must have been offered a place to study full-time on either the MA Screenwriting or MA Film at Edinburgh Napier University and must be able to satisfy visa requirements to study in the UK.
