Scholarships and bursaries are available to returning students continuing in an undergraduate program and new, first-time students entering an undergraduate program.
You are considered an entering student if:
you are a current high school (secondary) student who plans to come directly to the U of S, or
you have graduated from high school (secondary) but have little or no previous post-secondary education (fewer than 18 transferable credit units).

Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships, valued up to $40,000, are awarded based on academics and/or leadership and contributions to school and community life.
The application for Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships contains five of uSask’s highest valued, renewable scholarships:
George and Marsha Ivany President’s First & Best Scholarships: students must be graduating from a Canadian high school and proceeding directly from high school to university. A minimum average of 95% is required. Applicants must submit the Description of Leadership and Extra-curricular Activities via the online application form. One George and Marsha Ivany President's First and Best Scholarship is a Circle of Honour award, which is preferentially awarded to an Aboriginal student.
Chancellors’ Scholarships: students must be graduating from a Canadian high school. Two Chancellors' Scholarships are Circle of Honour awards, which are preferentially awarded to Aboriginal students.
U of S Entrance Scholarships: students must be graduating from a Canadian high school and proceeding directly from high school to university. A minimum average of 95% is required. Applicants must submit the Description of Leadership and Extra-curricular Activities via the online application form. Two U of S Entrance Scholarships are Circle of Honour awards, which are preferentially awarded to Aboriginal students.
Edwards Undergraduate Scholarships: open to students pursuing a Bachelor of commerce degree program in the Edwards School of Business.
College of Agriculture and Bioresources Renewable Entrance Scholarships: open to entering students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources. All entering students, including international and out-of-province applicants, are eligible to apply. One award is designated for an Aboriginal student.

Valued up to $32,000, Competitive Entrance Awards may be offered based on:
academic achievement,
financial need, and/or
contributions to school and community life.
These awards also recognize particular backgrounds, acknowledge contributions to certain clubs, and reward achievement in music or athletics.
Who can apply?
Competitive Entrance Awards are available to:
students proceeding directly from high school to university; and
students who have already graduated from high school but have less than 18 post-secondary credit units transferable to a program of study at the University of Saskatchewan.
How will my awards average be calculated?
Your awards average is calculated similarly to your admission average, considering your five best subjects, as completed by the end of Semester One of Grade 12, according to specific criteria. If you have already graduated from high school, your final admission average will also be your awards average.
What if I am offered other U of S awards?
Students are eligible to receive payment of one Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship and one Competitive Entrance Award or Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarship. If eligible to receive multiple awards, students will be contacted to confirm which award they will be accepting. Students can receive additional awards administered at the college/department level or from an external source. St. Thomas More College (STM) students may be eligible for additional awards and will be contacted when the STM awards application becomes available (usually in August).

Step 1. Apply for admission by February 15
Complete the online application for admission and pay the application fee.
Step 2. Check your email
Your new log-in ID and a temporary password for the PAWS web portal will be emailed to the address you verified on the application for admission within 2-3 business days.
Log in to PAWS, update your password, and open the Scholarships and Bursaries channel to access the Competitive Entrance Scholarships and Competitive Entrance Bursaries application forms.
Step 3. Submit awards applications by March 1
To apply:
Open the Scholarships and Bursaries channel in PAWS
Click Apply for Awards
Select Award Year: 2017-2018 and Award Period: Fall and Winter Terms
Choose the Competitive Entrance Scholarships* or Competitive Entrance Bursaries** application form
*SCHOLARSHIPS: awarded based on academic achievement and may consider school/community activities, leadership or other criteria
**BURSARIES: awarded based on financial need and may consider academic achievement, school/community activities, leadership or other criteria
Step 4. Submit supporting documents by March 1
The documents you need to submit for your Competitive Entrance Scholarships and/or Competitive Entrance Bursaries application depend on the awards you selected. After you have submitted your application, select View my supporting documentation? in the Scholarships and Bursaries channel in PAWS to view the supporting documents you are required to submit.
Common required supporting documents include:
1. List of Activities
Your lists of community and school involvement, athletic ability and leadership activities should be:
Concrete, with clear examples
Dated, with a time-frame listed for each activity
Unique, tailored to each award's specific selection criteria
2. Reference Letters
Choose your references carefully.
Choose someone who can express themselves well in writing and who has known you long enough to describe your positive attributes in detail. Do not ask a family member to be a reference.
Inform your references.
Provide your reference with lots of information about you, as it relates to your awards application. With a résumé and awards listing in hand, your reference’s letter will be stronger and more relevant. Let them know your deadline, and provide them lots of time.
One size doesn’t fit all!
Have your references write letters specific to your awards.
Submit reference letters with other awards documents.
There is no need to send them in separate envelopes, signed and sealed or by the references themselves.
Proofread your reference letters.
Some references write several reference letters for different students. Make sure the letters you send describe you.
Thank your references.
Send a thank you note, drop in and see them, whatever you like!
3. Financial Need Calculator
In order to be considered for bursaries, you must complete the Financial Need Calculator section as part of the application for Competitive Entrance Bursaries. You will be asked for information relating to your income, assets and extraordinary expenses. If you are a dependent student, your parent(s) or guardian(s) income tax information from the most recent tax year must be included as part of the Financial Need Calculator.

You will be considered for a Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship based on your admission average.
If you apply for admission during your Grade 12 year, your average will be calculated twice -- once at the time of admission and again following your graduation. Your scholarship amount will be based on your highest average.
If you have already graduated from high school, only your final Grade 12 average will be used.
How will I find out?
You will be notified in your admission letter if you are eligible for a Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship.
If you are a current Grade 12 student and your final Grade 12 average is higher than your average at the time of admission, you could be eligible for a higher scholarship amount?. If this is the case, we will let you know by email.
If your average goes down, don't worry! Your scholarship offer is based on your highest average; that's guaranteed!

(原文)When will I receive payment?
In order to receive payment of a Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship, you must:
enrol in a minimum of 18 credit units in the Fall and Winter Terms (September to April) in the year the award is to be taken up
arrange for your final, official high school transcript to be sent directly to the U of S
If you do not meet the credit requirement in your first year, you may still receive your award the following year, provided you enrol in 18 credit units or more during the Fall and Winter Terms (September-April), and have been continuously registered in classes at the U of S. In this case, you must notify the Student Finance and Awards when the 18 credit unit requirement has been met to request payment of the scholarship.
Once these requirements have been fulfilled, your Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship will be applied directly to your U of S student account for payment of tuition and fees. You will be able to see this payment in your PAWS account by mid-September.
If the scholarship is awarded, and your registration status changes to make you ineligible, monies will be revoked and you will be responsible for any outstanding tuition and fees.
What if I am offered other scholarships or bursaries?
Each student can receive payment of one Guaranteed Entrance Scholarship and one Best and Brightest Scholarship or Competitive Entrance Award from the U of S.
Students can receive additional awards administered at the college/department level or from an external source; these will not affect your U of S entrance awards.
