This double degree course will immerse you in a range of conceptual and practical approaches to art making through workshops and classes to help develop your studio practice, while giving you a sound knowledge of the theories and practices that arts, social science and humanities professionals use every day.
Combining Visual Arts with your choice of 40 majors and minors from our arts course means you can discover subjects you never knew existed and you can tailor your studies to your academic or personal interests, while exploring different career options.

This course leads to two separate degrees:
· the Bachelor of Visual Arts, and
· the Bachelor of Arts.
You will gain all the benefits of each degree course (see Bachelor of Fine Art/Bachelor of Arts) and be fully equipped to pursue a career drawing on either separately or to combine the two in your chosen work.
Arts combined with Visual Arts can open doors in the creative economy and provide opportunities in a diverse range of public contexts. You'll develop the kind of transferable skills employers are looking for - communication, teamwork, research, critical thinking and cultural sensitivity.
You'll be equipped for a career in the arts industry as a curator, arts writer, theorist or art educator or to work in museums, galleries, community arts programs, art and design consultancies or arts/cultural conservation organisations. In addition, you'll be prepared for many interdisciplinary careers roles in cultural programs for community, government or business, arts management, art and design criticism, publishing and art therapy.

Who said creativity and commerce don't mix? Musicians usually have a good head for maths and numbers and logical thinking, so why not bring them together, with a double degree course in Commerce and Music.
With this combination you can follow your passion, and gain essential skills that will help you take your music career to the next level, or pursue the commercial aspects of music.

· the Bachelor of Commerce, and
· the Bachelor of Music.
You will gain all the benefits of each degree course and be fully equipped to pursue a career in either field separately or to combine the two in your chosen work.
You will receive a high-quality tertiary music education, specialising in Performance, Composition, Creative Music Technology, or Ethnomusicology and Musicology. You'll combine this with a major in commerce, such as Actuarial Studies, Finance, Marketing Science or Management Studies, perhaps to help you manage business requirements either for yourself or across the music industry.
A degree in Commerce and another in Music opens up a variety of flexible options for becoming part of the global music industry, whether by contributing to it using your musical talents, or developing your professional skills in commercial roles such as managing record labels, artists, not-for-profit organisations or cultural events.

Arts at Monash provides a comprehensive gateway to a wide range of fascinating areas of study across the arts, humanities and social sciences. Pair this with a degree in Education and you can share that fascination with the next generation of young people - inspiring and engaging young developing minds.
This double degree course will prepare you either for primary or secondary school teaching. Students specialising in secondary education will qualify as subject specialist teachers in two secondary teaching areas, while students specialising in primary education will be qualified to teach across the school curriculum but with particular expertise in one or two fields.

This course leads to two separate degrees. Depending upon your specialisation, you will be awarded one of:
· the Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary Education, or
· the Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Secondary Education,
and also
· the Bachelor of Arts.

Within the Arts degree, a wide choice of majors and minors, spanning literary studies, politics, music, history, geography, sociology, indigenous studies, linguistics, film and screen, communications, and a range of language and cultural areas, will provide you with a rich repertoire of study pathways. Taken together with your education studies, these will prepare you for a highly rewarding career.
Our graduates become leaders in teaching practice, but beyond this, they also lead in public debate, policy development and community action across the world. In your Bachelor of Arts degree you will choose from a select range of majors related to the destination Masters degree. You’ll also have the scope to choose from almost 40 different areas of study for your Minor and electives, including languages, social sciences, communications, politics, human rights, and international relations. While developing an informed, critical awareness of the fields you're most passionate about, you’ll lay the groundwork for a wealth of exciting careers.
As a high achieving student (75% average), in the third year of your degree you will start to transition into the Masters degree. The journalist of the future will play a crucial role in society by scrutinising and holding to account those in power, shedding light on systemic failings, and finding the truth. If you want to enter this exciting and rapidly changing industry, or you're a media practitioner seeking to extend your expertise or refresh the intellectual basis of your practice, the Master of Journalism is a perfect choice.
You will work with award-winning journalists and academics with outstanding industry links, achieve expert skills in research and reporting in print, digital, radio and video, and explore the media's evolving role in society.

The Bachelor of Arts offers both diversity and focus, and builds informed, skilful and critically aware citizens of the world. The Master of Journalism is led by award-winning media practitioners and academic staff. Focussed on career outcomes, you’ll build practical and applied skills in all media forms. Embedded relationships with the media industry flow from the senior editorial backgrounds of key staff. The Master of Journalism offers internship opportunities in a wide range of media outlets, from mainstream newspapers to niche websites specialising in areas such as politics, arts or fashion.
You will build your understanding of a globally evolving industry through international collaborative engagement with research institutes and centres for investigative journalism in the USA, including the Center for Investigative Reporting in San Francisco and the Center for Public Integrity in Washington, DC.
