Applying for Undergraduate
Before you get here, you must take the following steps to gain admission to undergraduate studies:

Complete our application on line at http://www.uregina.ca/international/
Pay the $100 application fee (Pay by credit card or if you do not have a credit card please go to www.peertransfer.com/school/uregina to do a transfer of funds.)

Submit your post secondary transcripts
Provide proof of English Language Proficiency. If you don’t have your ELP yet, that’s okay;we will issue you a conditional letter of acceptance if you are admissible.
Provide a copy of your passport
If you have not been in school for over two years please briefly describe (a sentence or two is sufficient) what you have been doing since graduation.
If required documents are not in English or French, a notarized English translation must accompany douments or be presented to the Admissions Office. Originals will be required once you arrive in Regina. To gain transfer credit, you are required to submit Post Secondary documents directly from the institution or in a sealed envelope. If you would like your acceptance letter sent through courier, please let us know as soon as possible. There is a $100 fee for this service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Am I an International student?
You are considered an international student if you have to apply for a study permit/visa to come and study at the University of Regina. If you were born in another country but have obtained a permanent residence card you should contact Enrolment Services about your application.
What is the application deadline?
International students do not have strict deadlines for applying to the University of Regina, except for competitive programs. Our admissions team requires at least two weeks* to process an application. It is important that international students give themselves enough time to apply for a study permit to ensure that you can start your studies on time.
Once you are granted an acceptance letter from the University of Regina it is valid for three consecutive semesters. This means that if you apply for Fall 2015 you can choose to study starting in Fall 2015 OR Winter 2016 OR Spring/Summer 2016 with the same acceptance letter. This ensures that if you are late obtaining your study permit you will still have a chance to come to the UofR.
**Processing times increase during peak months
Can I get transfer credits?
Transfer credit is awarded at the discretion of the faculty or college you are applying to. Transfer credit may be given for up to two years of work at other post-secondary institutions. However, some programs may only give limited credit. Once admitted to the university, your faculty or college will evaluate your previous work and award transfer credit relevant to your program of choice.
Students will need to submit an official transcript (in a sealed envelope, directly from the institution attended) and course descriptions in order to allow an accurate assessment of the courses). Transfer credits will not be considered without the official transcript or if the institution is not accredited.

How do I make changes to my application?
If you have submitted an application and would like to make a change to it please contact us directly at international.admissions@uregina.ca. Submitting multiply applications slows down your application progress. If you want to change your program, semester, address or pay the fee after your application has been submitted simply email us.
How do I apply?
1. Complete our online application
It is important that you ensure all information provided on this application is correct. The mailing address you provide will be the address we send your acceptance package to, please ensure that it is correct as you will need our acceptance letter to apply for a study permit.
2. Pay the $100 application fee
It is best to pay by credit card. If you do not have a credit card, please go to www.applyregina.peertransfer.com to do a transfer of funds). This application fee is non-refundable. However, if you apply for a different program in undergraduate studies at UR you are not required to pay the application fee again.
3. Submission of all required documents
We accept scanned copies of all documents to our email address* international.admissions@uregina.ca for the initial application process. You will be required to bring all official documents with you to UofR. If you are seeking transfer credits you will need to send us an official copy of your post secondary transcripts.

Even if you are applying for another undergraduate program and are not seeking transfer credit it is important to notify us of your past post secondary studies. If you omit this information you can be required to discontinue your studies at the University of Regina.
Submit a copy of your passport
Please scan or take a photo of the first page of your passport that has your picture and date of birth. This is important to ensure that you full name and date of birth is correct on your acceptance letter. If you are in the process of obtaining a new passport you can submit a birth certificate or another type of government issued identification.
Third Party Authorization
Third party authorization means that you are giving someone permission to contact us regarding your application. This could be an agent, a relative, a language school or a friend. It is important that we have your permission to ensure your privacy. On the last page of the application you will see a spot to fill in your agent or third party. If you miss this step we can send you a Third Party Authorization the form to sign.
4. Provide proof of English Language Proficiency (ELP)
5. Provide a brief description of what you have been doing since graduation if you have been graduated for over 2 years.One to two sentences is sufficient.

What happens after I have submitted an application?
Once you have submitted the application, paid the application fee and provided us with the required documents your application will be processed by our admissions staff. This usually takes approximately 2 weeks*. During this process we are reviewing your credentials to determine if you meet the University of Regina admissions standards. Once we have reached a decision we will contact you.
Once you have submitted an application you cannot log back in to make changes or check your process, you will simply need to wait to hear from us.
Are there scholarships for international students?
Automatic Scholarship (No application needed):
The International President’s Award is a new scholarship established by UR International in 2011. Once you are admitted to the U of R, you are automatically considered for this scholarship. The criteria are:
$500 award for entrance scholarship average of 80%-90%
$1,000 award for entrance scholarship average of 90% or higher
You are an international student with a Study Permit and are subject to international student differential tuition and fees
Fully accepted into any undergraduate degree program at the U of R
What do I do once I am accepted?
Once you have received an acceptance from us you do not need to confirm your acceptance of our offer.

國際校長獎是一項新的獎學(xué)金，由學(xué)校的國際部于2011年設(shè)立。一旦你被學(xué)校錄取，這個獎學(xué)金將自動對你考慮。標(biāo)準(zhǔn)如下：
(1)平均分在80%-90%之間，可獲得500加元的入學(xué)獎學(xué)金;
(2)平均分在90%或以上，可獲得1000加元入學(xué)獎學(xué)金;
(3)國際生需要申請學(xué)習(xí)許可即簽證，要承擔(dān)國際學(xué)費和國內(nèi)學(xué)費之間的差額;
(4)完全接受入讀學(xué)校的任意本科學(xué)位課程。
