Science International Scholarships
Available to:Future Student
Level of study:Undergraduate Postgraduate Coursework
Citizenship: International studentScholarships are available for outstanding international students in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs in science at UQ.
Award value:AU$3,000 or AU$10,000 depending on the award

Eligibility
To be eligible for a UQ Science International Scholarship, you must:
* Be classified as an international student in Australia
* Have an unconditional or a conditional offer (with all conditions met by the scholarship closing date) from UQ
* For undergraduate programs, have completed senior high school and obtained an entry score that equates to a Queensland Tertiary Education rank of 96 or higher
* For postgraduate programs, have completed an undergraduate degree and obtained a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 6 or higher on a 7-point scale
* Not have already commenced your studies at UQ, even if you seek a change of program
* Not simultaneously hold another scholarship
* For the Full Degree Scholarships: be an international student enrolling in year one of a UQ Faculty of Science full degree program
* For the Advanced Standing Scholarships: be an international student enrolling in a UQ Faculty of Science program with advanced standing (credit articulation)

About the award
Two different scholarships are available:
* The Full Degree Scholarship is awarded to students enrolling in year one of a UQ Faculty of Science full degree program and is a single payment of AU$10,000
* The Advanced Standing Scholarship is awarded to students enrolling in a UQ Faculty of Science program with advanced standing (credit articulation), for example on the basis of previous study at a Polytechnic, and is a single payment of AU$3,000.
Selection criteria
Following the closing date, UQ will select winners based on a competitive, merit-based process, based on:
* Candidates' academic performance as demonstrated by their Grade Point Averages (GPA)
* Candidates' potential to contribute to science, assessed on the basis of their personal statements
How to apply
For either the Full Degree Scholarship or the Advanced Standing Scholarship:
1) Lodge an official UQ undergraduate or postgraduate application form for international students for entry into one of the eligible Science programs either directly to UQ or through your agent.
2) Receive a UQ Student ID Number and an unconditional offer (or a conditional offer providing that all conditions are to be met by the scholarship closing date).
3) Complete and submit the Science International Scholarship online application form.

兩項(xiàng)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金簡介
昆士蘭大學(xué)有兩種獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金可供選擇
第一類：完整學(xué)位獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金條件：該獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金是頒發(fā)給昆士蘭大學(xué)科學(xué)學(xué)院就讀一年級(jí)的全日制學(xué)生，金額是一次性支付10000澳元。
第二類：學(xué)分豁免獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金條件：改獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金頒發(fā)給昆士蘭大學(xué)科學(xué)學(xué)院就讀高等學(xué)位的學(xué)生(學(xué)分可累積)，例如之前致力于理工類的研究，金額是每項(xiàng)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金3000澳元。

Space Environment Research Centre Scholarships

Students can recieve additional support and opportunities provided by the Space Environment Research Centre. Successful scholarship candidates will also have the opportunity to apply for exciting short-term placements in space research centres internationally and within Australia.
Study can be in a broad range of fields including:

· Engineering
· Adaptive optics
· Astrodynamics
· Atmospheric sciences
· Geodesy

· Laser guide star adaptive optics

SERC accepts applications all year round and strongly encourages students to obtain an APA, URS or other primary scholarship, however this is not essential. SERC top-up scholarships cannot generally be held simultaneously with other top-up scholarships.
Selection criteria
Consideration of all candidates will be given based on:
· academic merit;
· relevance of studies to SERC objectives; and
· potential for long term contribution to research outcomes;
Priority is given to students with first class honours (or equivalent) from participating countries, currently Australia, Japan and the USA.
The applicant is or will be enrolled in academic studies at a reputable Australian University.
In the case of an international applicant, the applicant is required to have a valid passport, appropriate visa and may not be from a country subject to Trade Controls.

About the award
1. King's College Entrance Scholarship - valued at $2,000
This Scholarship is awarded to a NEW resident of King’s College (any year of study) based on academic performance, potential contribution to the College and financial need.
Valued at A$2,000 over a 12 month period, this scholarship is paid in equal parts over first and second semester to reduce the fees payable.
2. King’s College and UQ Rugby Academy Scholarships – Two each valued at $4,000
An initiative of the UQ Rugby Academy and King’s College, the purpose of these scholarships is to assist King's College students who have demonstrated that they are capable of playing Rugby Union at a high standard and who are also members of the UQ Rugby Academy.
Two scholarships are available, each valued at A$4,000 for a 12 month period.
3. King’s College Sporting Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student with an exceptionally high standard of performance in their chosen sport – Inter-College Competition (ICC) compatible.
The recipient of this scholarship receives a discount of up to half the academic year’s standard room accommodation at King’s. The scholarship holder will also receive a 12 month membership and Total Value Pass from UQ Sport which provides access to Gym, Cardio, Pool and group fitness activities plus a range of high performance support services.
In order to receive this scholarship the student must agree to play their sport for King’s College in the ICC competition while also playing for the compatible UQ Club.
4. UQ Cultural Scholarship at King’s College
The recipient of this scholarship receives a discount of up to half of the academic year’s standard room accommodation at King’s.
In order to receive this scholarship the student must agree to participate in the relevant art-form in the ICC Cultural Competition (e.g. choir, instrumental, debating, drama, etc).
Selection criteria
Your application will be assessed by the following information. Please ensure that it is accurate.
a) Accepted to King’s College as a new resident (must apply via www.kings.uq.edu.au), as per the College’s normal application process
b) Demonstrated willingness to be involved in The Inter-College Competition (ICC)
c) Evidence of having competed at a representative level
d) Proven leadership skills
e) To be able to, under normal circumstances, compete for King’s College in ICC competitions and represent the University at Club and University Games level
f) To maintain a GPA of 4 or above while studying at The University of Queensland
These scholarships are offered only at the discretion of the King’s College Master, whose decision is final. All scholarships are offered as discounts off normal accommodation fees.
In order to receive any of these scholarships the student must be accepted as a member of King’s College and as such must successfully complete the application process.
