Accommodation for International Students
Saitama University has the “International House,” a residential facility for international students. However, the International House does not presently have sufficient capacity for all the international students, so approximately two-thirds of such students have to find accommodation themselves.

埼玉大學(xué)有國(guó)際之家，專門針對(duì)國(guó)際學(xué)生的住宿設(shè)施。不過，國(guó)際之家目前容量有限，不夠所有國(guó)際學(xué)生居住。將近三分之二的國(guó)際學(xué)生需要自己找房。

a.Live in the International House
Applications to staying in the International House are accepted in July (moving in October) and January (moving in April). For those wishing to move in International House, please forward application to the Office of Faculty which you belong. Since the number of rooms is limited, you may not be able to move in, even though you submit the application. Allowed residence period is maximum one year.
The International House provides 152 rooms for international students and 20 rooms for researchers.

七月(十月入住)和一月(四月入住)接受國(guó)際之家宿舍申請(qǐng)。對(duì)于有意住國(guó)際之家的學(xué)生，請(qǐng)向所屬學(xué)院的辦公室提交申請(qǐng)。由于房間數(shù)量有限，可能提交了申請(qǐng)，你也不能入住。許可的居住期限不超過一年。

A room is furnished with a desk, chair, bookshelf, bed, closet, telephone, refrigerator, cupboard, dining table, dining chair, gas water heater, cooking stove, sink, suspension cupboard, air conditioner, shoe cabinet, curtain, etc.

b.Live in a private apartment
In many cases in Japan, a “Joint Guarantor” is required when you enter into a lease agreement for an apartment, and so forth. The “Joint Guarantor” is a person who will be responsible jointly with the lessee (an international student, in this case) for debts to the lessor. In Japan, people generally ask for a family member to become a joint guarantor. International students who have difficulty finding a joint guarantor by themselves can apply to Saitama University to be a joint guarantor. Saitama University can be your joint guarantor only during the period in which you are validly registered with the school. Please note that a joint guarantee will be canceled when you lose your school registration due tograduation, or withdrawal and/or expulsion.
私人住房
在日本，很多情況下，在簽訂租賃協(xié)議的時(shí)候需要有聯(lián)合擔(dān)保人。聯(lián)合擔(dān)保人和承租人共同承擔(dān)向出租人支付租金的責(zé)任。對(duì)于這種情況，承租人就是國(guó)際學(xué)生。在日本，人們通常會(huì)要求家庭成員做聯(lián)合擔(dān)保人。自己尋找聯(lián)合擔(dān)保人有困難的國(guó)際學(xué)生，可以向埼玉大學(xué)申請(qǐng)，讓埼玉大學(xué)作為其聯(lián)合擔(dān)保人。埼玉大學(xué)只在你注冊(cè)埼玉大學(xué)的有效期間擔(dān)任聯(lián)合擔(dān)保人。請(qǐng)注意，由于畢業(yè)、退學(xué)或被開除等原因而失去學(xué)校注冊(cè)的學(xué)生，聯(lián)合擔(dān)保人將被取消。
Application conditions
Enrollment at the Saitama University as a degree seeking student.
Have the resident status of “Student”, and be eligible to enroll in “Comprehensive Renters’ Insurance for Foreign Students Studying in Japan” (4,000 yen for one year and 8,000 yen for two years)
There is no unpaid balance for tuition.
Those who can comply with that is described in a written pledge.
A property is owned by a landlord or management company which can accept an Apartment Tenancy Guarantee, instead of a clause regarding a joint guarantor in the agreement.
A contracted property is located within a roughly 2-km radius of Saitama University.
If a roommate is a foreigner, he or she must have the resident status of “Student”, and has enrolled in Comprehensive Renters’ Insurance for Foreign Students Studying in Japan.
申請(qǐng)條件
1.在埼玉大學(xué)的注冊(cè)身份為要求拿學(xué)位學(xué)生。

Application procedure
Inform a real estate agent that you would like to use the university’s institutional guarantee as a joint guarantor to execute an apartment lease agreement.
Bring the agreement, student identification card, and resident card to the Office of International Affairs, and fill out the application form for Institutional Guarantee. Then, have an interview with a student counselor (counseling time 12:00-16:00 p.m.).
Pay the insurance fee at a Lawson convenience store after the interview.
Bring the receipt to the Office of International Affairs.
Receive the Apartment Tenancy Guarantee and the agreement at the Office of International Affairs two to three days later, and take them to the real estate agent.
申請(qǐng)流程
1，通知房地產(chǎn)中介，說你想讓埼玉大學(xué)的制擔(dān)保人作為你的聯(lián)合擔(dān)保人，簽訂租賃合同。
2.帶租賃協(xié)議、學(xué)生證和居留證到國(guó)際事務(wù)辦公室，填寫制度擔(dān)保人申請(qǐng)表。然后，和學(xué)生顧問面談。面談時(shí)間為中午十二點(diǎn)至下午四點(diǎn)。
3.面談之后，到 Lawson 便利店交保險(xiǎn)費(fèi)。
4.將收據(jù)帶到國(guó)際事務(wù)辦公室。
5.兩至三天之后，到國(guó)際事務(wù)辦公室領(lǐng)取房屋租賃擔(dān)保和租賃協(xié)議，將它們交給房產(chǎn)商。

Saitama University gathers various documents necessary for education and research, while at the same time establishing an informational environment at the Saitama University Library. When school is in-session, the Saitama University Library is open every day including Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.

The Saitama University Library owns and provides not only a collection of more than 850,000 of books, magazines and newspapers, but also audiovisual materials such as CD-ROMs, videos and DVDs, etc. Moreover, the Library provides learning materials for international students and students who are to study overseas.
Informational Environment
In a reference room, there are information terminals where students can access the internet for various databases, and electronic journals for writing papers. In reading rooms, students can bring their own personal computers and use the internet, and write papers by connecting via ethernet ports or via wireless LAN. Moreover, there are CD-ROM terminals and terminals designated for the use of OPAC, which enables online searches for the collections held at the University.

University Hall
On the third floor, there are large and small meeting rooms, as well as music appreciation rooms. On the second floor, there are conference rooms, meeting rooms and Japanese-style rooms. On the first floor, there is a lobby, a lounge and a convenience store (Lawson Saitama University Store), with a space where students can eat and drink. Moreover, there is the “University Information Zone” in the convenience store, where University publications are displayed and distributed.
