The college system
All students within the Faculty of Arts & Science on the downtown Toronto (St. George) campus are affiliated with one of seven colleges. These colleges have deep roots in the history of the University of Toronto; the college system dates back to the earliest days of the university and remains one of its distinctive features. The colleges are a home base for their students and provide the advantages of a closer-knit community experience within a large research university.

Innis College
Founded in 1964, Innis College provides a small-scale, informal home to about 1,950 undergraduate students within the Faculty of Arts & Science (FAS) at the University of Toronto (U of T). Students of Innis College, or Innisians, represent a wide range of backgrounds and interests yet can all enjoy the familiarity and comfort of this small-scale hub within the greater university. Innis is located in the northwest corner of St. George campus just north of Robarts Library, the University of Toronto’s main research facility.
New College
NEW is one of the youngest and most modern of the St. George Campus colleges at the University of Toronto. Opened in 1962, it has developed its own traditions and identity, focusing on personal attention to students, innovative interdisciplinary programs, links with the professional faculties, career mentorship and community outreach initiatives. NEW is a friendly and informal community which places a high priority on student support services and encourages diversity.

Woodsworth College is a thriving community of over 5500 students. The majority of Woodsworth’s students study full-time and are admitted directly from high school.
