二、?？巳卮髮W的歷史
埃克塞特大學的成立是經(jīng)過幾所學校合并而成。早在1851年，當時在埃克塞特市舉行了一場展覽會，引起了?？巳爻枪妼λ囆g和科學極大的興趣，隨后在1855年創(chuàng)立了"?？巳厮囆g學校"(Exeter School of Art)，及后1863年成立了"?？巳乜茖W學校" (Exeter School of Science)。1893年演變?yōu)榘？巳乜萍即髮W學院(Exeter Technical and University Extension College)。在1990年，上述兩所學校合并成為"皇家亞伯特紀念學院"(Royal Albert Memorial College)。 到1922年建設成為英格蘭西南大學學院(The University College of the South West of England)，這就是今天?？巳卮髮W的Streatham校區(qū)。該學院于1955年獲得皇家特許，正式升格成為?？巳卮髮W(University of Exeter)。
