In total, 12 French universities appear in the Global University Employability Ranking 2017, designed by HR consultancy Emerging and published exclusively by Times Higher Education. The ranking reveals which universities recruiters at top companies think are the best at preparing students for the workplace.

The "grandes ecoles" – elite French institutions set up to produce civil servants and technical officers – do particularly well in the employability ranking.
école Polytechnique, a grande ecole focused on engineering, science and maths comes top of the ranking.

Top three universities in France for graduate employability
1. école Polytechnique
école Polytechnique was established in 1794 and also previously served as a military academy under Napolean I in 1804. Although it is no longer a military academy, the university is still supervised by the French Ministry of Defence.
The university focuses on teachings in science and engineering but students can also take courses in humanities, social sciences, languages and sports.
Students are also expected to take an internship during their time at the university to gain some work experience.
