    首先來看看個人簡歷的書寫內(nèi)容。
    一.個人信息
    即Personal Information。包括姓名,出生日期,性別,地址,聯(lián)系電話和電子郵箱等。
    1) 西方人經(jīng)常混淆姓與名,導(dǎo)致錄取后發(fā)的I20表格上姓名顛倒。然后還得聯(lián)系學(xué)校修改后再郵遞過來,很麻煩。所以建議在簡歷或者填各種申請表格中采用姓的漢語拼音都大寫,名的漢語拼音僅首字母大寫,姓與名的先后次序倒不重要。當(dāng)然,還可以把自己的姓名及性別作為簡歷的標(biāo)題如Mr. Ming ZHANG。
    2) 在美國,出生日期的格式是月日年。如1987年5月28日出生,那么應(yīng)填05/28/1987。
    3) 地址一定填準(zhǔn)確,否則可能延誤收到錄取包裹。如果家庭住址不方便收包裹,可以在簡歷里分開寫上mailing address (郵寄地址)和permanent address(家庭地址),這樣學(xué)校一般會把包裹寄至mailing address。如果你住的是小巷小街,建議不要翻譯地址,直接使用拼音。
    4) 聯(lián)系電話的話應(yīng)該在電話錢加區(qū)號和國家好,用短橫線隔開,城市區(qū)號前不加“0”,如北京座機(jī)格式是0086-10-65229780,而手機(jī)是0086-1371066666。
    5) 電子郵箱非常重要,一定留一個有效的,因?yàn)樯暾堖^程中郵件會成為你和學(xué)校間的主要溝通方式。
    二.教育背景
    即Educational background。倒著時間來寫,即最近的教育經(jīng)歷放前面。內(nèi)容包括畢業(yè)/在讀學(xué)校名,起止時間,所謂學(xué)位,所學(xué)專業(yè),如果綜合GPA或者專業(yè)GPA較高或者班級排名比較好,可以重點(diǎn)突出。還可以把核心課程,與申請相關(guān)的部分課程羅列出來。
    三.工作或科研經(jīng)歷
    即Working & Research Experience。也是倒時間把重要的經(jīng)歷寫出來,和申請專業(yè)相關(guān)的經(jīng)歷可以稍微詳細(xì)點(diǎn)。包括公司名稱,工作崗位,主要職責(zé)與成就等。申請研究生學(xué)歷,這部分比較重要,尤其是MBA專業(yè),一定好好寫。
    四.課外活動
    即Extracurricular Activities。主要展現(xiàn)個人素質(zhì)的全面發(fā)展,以及個人對集體和社會的責(zé)任感。本科申請者很多都是無工作實(shí)習(xí)和科研經(jīng)歷,所以這部分盡量能寫多些。但重點(diǎn)突出,平淡無奇或者對申請專業(yè)無多大關(guān)聯(lián)的就不用寫了。
    五.所獲榮譽(yù)
    即Honors。學(xué)術(shù)的和社會活動方面的榮譽(yù)都要寫上去。包括獲獎名稱,獲獎時間,發(fā)獎單位,獎勵原因,可以簡要說明獲獎比例。如果中學(xué)時有與申請專業(yè)相關(guān)性強(qiáng)的突出獎項(xiàng),應(yīng)該也寫進(jìn)去?;蛘咚@獎項(xiàng)總數(shù)量不多時,中學(xué)時有的特殊的獎項(xiàng)也可以添上去。
    六.個人發(fā)表著作
    即publisions。包括題目,作者,時間,雜志(包括頁碼)(中英文,以原發(fā)表為準(zhǔn))。
    七.個人技能
    即skills。最好按照與申請專業(yè)相關(guān)程度決定先后,聯(lián)系越緊或越重要的技能一般放最前面。
    八.其他
    即others。包括標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化考試成績,計(jì)算機(jī)水平,主要的實(shí)驗(yàn)技能,興趣愛好等。如果留學(xué)語言分?jǐn)?shù)不錯的話,應(yīng)重點(diǎn)強(qiáng)調(diào),分列各單項(xiàng)成績。興趣愛好中如果有極限運(yùn)動,登山賽車等體現(xiàn)冒險和創(chuàng)新精神的,可以重點(diǎn)介紹。
    接著來看看簡歷的寫作技巧。
    一、含金量高的寫到前面
    個人的教育經(jīng)歷、論文發(fā)表、科研經(jīng)歷、實(shí)習(xí)工作經(jīng)歷,是簡歷中含金量最高的部分,應(yīng)當(dāng)放在簡歷的最前半部分,且占整篇簡歷的60%以上。然而仍有很多學(xué)生卻將姓名、性別、生日、聯(lián)系方式等次要信息占掉簡歷的前30%。
    二、羅列科研項(xiàng)目的順序要有原則
    羅列科研項(xiàng)目的順序。一般我們堅(jiān)持以下兩個原則:a.就近原則,教授更愿意看到我們目前或者最近正在做的項(xiàng)目,而不是我們從大一到現(xiàn)在逐一列舉我們做了什么,應(yīng)該按照時間最近的順序進(jìn)行羅列;b.相關(guān)性原則,挑選與我們申請專業(yè)分支相關(guān)性最大的項(xiàng)目放在前面,按照其相關(guān)程度依次列出相關(guān)經(jīng)歷。
    三、項(xiàng)目部分著重突出個人職責(zé)
    項(xiàng)目部分著重突出個人職責(zé)??春啔v的人一般都是本專業(yè)的教授,既然是教授,那他們可能一看到我們的科研項(xiàng)目,就知道這個項(xiàng)目怎么做,所以無需花篇幅去寫研究背景、項(xiàng)目介紹。重要的是申請者在這個項(xiàng)目中的職責(zé),最好是表述清楚申請者在該項(xiàng)目中運(yùn)用什么知識或者軟件、做了什么、最后實(shí)現(xiàn)了什么。
    四、GPA和托福成績不是必須寫在簡歷上
    因?yàn)樵诰W(wǎng)申中,所有的學(xué)校都會問到申請者的語言成績和專業(yè)課成績,因此對于一些硬件成績并不是很理想的學(xué)生,最好不要將GPA和GT成績寫在簡歷上,一來這部分內(nèi)容會占去簡歷一些空間,顯得簡歷并不是很簡潔;二來成績不理想,并不能給我們的簡歷加分。
    五、刪掉簡歷中的廢話
    刪掉簡歷中的廢話。比如學(xué)生的一個比賽名稱是“Robot Assembly and Design”,卻又在個人職責(zé)里寫Designed and assembled a robot??疵Q就知道學(xué)生設(shè)計(jì)和組裝了機(jī)器人,職責(zé)里面再說一遍,相當(dāng)于廢話,可以刪掉。再比如學(xué)生的實(shí)習(xí)是在某某公司,卻在個人職責(zé)里面寫worked as a technical trainee in XXX,也是廢話連篇,直接在實(shí)習(xí)單位后面寫Position: technical trainee即可。

    七、統(tǒng)一格式
    統(tǒng)一時間格式,用數(shù)字就全都用數(shù)字,用簡寫就全都用簡寫,如果第一段經(jīng)歷精確到月份,后面提到的其他經(jīng)歷也都精確到月份,不要一會兒寫05/2013-06/2015,一會兒寫2014.03.21-2016.02.18,一會兒寫April 2015一會兒又寫one year。

    對于比較稀有的獎項(xiàng)或名稱,比如XXX企業(yè)獎學(xué)金,可以稍作解釋,提供獲獎比例,比如200個學(xué)生里只有一個學(xué)生可以獲得,可以在解釋該獎項(xiàng)以后,加括號寫1/200,使得錄取委員會更直觀看到獲獎比例。

    十、簡歷中避免出現(xiàn)I,we,they等主觀性詞語
