1、闡述事實絕對真實
學生在準備新加坡留學的申請文書時，一定要在注意保證文中內容的真實性，主要是你的個人信息、學習背景等。因為一旦你的信息虛假或夸大其詞，讓招生官對你產(chǎn)生疑慮，或者招生官直接打電話到相關單位核實你的信息虛假，后果是很嚴重的。最直接的就是你的申請會被否決掉。
2、整體內容精練簡潔
文章內容不要過長，簡單精煉即可。有些學生想要陳述的太多，或者希望把所有曾經(jīng)獲得的榮譽、優(yōu)秀經(jīng)歷等一一羅列來為自己加分，但這種過長又拖沓的文章招生官可能沒有時間也沒有耐心讀下去，說不定會起到負面作用降低你的印象分，所以挑選幾個典型陳述就好。另外，文章一定要反復檢查，像病句錯字這種低級錯誤千萬不能出現(xiàn)。
3、切忌盲目套用模板
學生在準備文書的時候要注意三個文關鍵點：
a、不要一味套用網(wǎng)上提供的規(guī)律寫作模板來回答問題。因為這樣很容易偏移原來大學文書的主題，而大學審查官也很容易察覺這種寫作方式。
b、學會利用鮮活的實例，讓讀者進入你的情境中，讓大學申請部的老師們可以感覺到申請人的想法。
c、依照自己的性格寫文書。在閱讀無數(shù)的文書后，閱卷老師已能分辨什么是誠實與不誠實的作答，可以區(qū)分什么是發(fā)自內心回答，因而寫作時應該讓文書有趣，卻又不可喪失自我。
注意事項
1、留學申請人在書寫留學文書的時候一定要闡明留學動機，如學生為什么會想到留學、為什么選擇新加坡留學以及為什么選擇這個學校專業(yè)之類的，而對于文書的篇幅要格外注意，不要出現(xiàn)流水賬，要盡量的簡單明了，讓學校與審核官都能清楚的了解申請人的意愿。
2、留學文書上要有側重點，以自身的優(yōu)點或是優(yōu)勢來突出自己，讓新加坡留學目標院校的招生官覺得你與眾不同，而且對于自己的留學規(guī)劃也要簡單描述來證明自己知識真心留學的。
3、避免不實吹捧以及“英國式低調”。留學申請個人自述中最常見的錯誤就是把簡歷或個人歷史重述一遍，沒有反思、評價和自我批評。還有一些人不愿意講自己，我們把這種情況叫作“英國式低調?！边@并不一定是一個錯誤。事實上，在閱讀了無數(shù)自我吹捧（這是另一個陷阱）的文章后，這種文章倒讓人耳目一新。但是，如果申請人說得太少，也會令我們無從得知他這樣做是出于謙遜呢？還是因為拙于表達，或者他沒有想到這篇文章對我們的重要性。
4、在整體和簡潔之間做到令人愉快的折衷。建議不要把草稿寄過來。文章寫完后要再看兩遍。盡量做到清楚、準確，但也不要因為篇幅的限制妨礙文章的完整。在整體和簡潔之間可以做到令人愉快的折衷。
