catch at 試圖抓住/拼命抓
一、catch hold of
catch on 流行起來(lái);理解/明白
eg:He is a good student and he really catches on fast.
他的確是個(gè)好學(xué)生，對(duì)知識(shí)吸收領(lǐng)會(huì)得非?？?
catch one's breath 屏息/透不過(guò)氣來(lái)
catch out 發(fā)覺(jué)...有錯(cuò)誤(或做壞事)
catch up with 趕上;對(duì)...產(chǎn)生惡果
catch up with是指從后面趕上來(lái);keep up with 是指保持在同一個(gè)水平上，不落伍.
eg: I had to work hard to catch up the others, after missing a term.
休學(xué)一學(xué)期后，我必須努力用功，以趕上其他同學(xué).
He walked so fast so that she couldn't keep up with him.
他走得很快，使得她無(wú)法跟上.
*其中overtake 也有趕上之意.
