托福閱讀詞匯題解題技巧
拆詞法
拆詞法就是利用詞匯的詞根詞綴來分析詞匯，前綴指明詞匯褒貶、是否，后綴指示詞性，詞根則決定著詞匯的意義。所以如果生詞結(jié)構(gòu)明顯，可以試著猜詞。
根據(jù)詞綴猜詞：
abnormal非正常的;abuse濫用、錯(cuò)誤使用、虐待;counterstrike反擊;counteract抵抗阻礙;counterrevolution反革命;illegal非法的;illiterate文盲的;illogical不合邏輯的等等
根據(jù)詞根猜詞：
act 行為/舉止 例：active、action、activate
cap 罩著/蓋著 例：capable、capacity、capacious
ceive 做(事情) 例：conceive 、perceive 、receive、deceive
cess 行走 例：access、recess、recessionary
cide 切割 例：decide、incidence、accident
cite 呼叫，驅(qū)策 例：recite cite excite
聯(lián)系上下文猜詞
這種方法主要根據(jù)句子內(nèi)或者句子間的邏輯關(guān)聯(lián)來猜測詞義。常用的有因果關(guān)系、轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系、并列關(guān)系、否定關(guān)系等等。
例1：Absenteeism and lateness hurt productivity and since work was specialized,disrupted the regular factory routine.Industrialization not only produced a fundamental change in the way work was organized; it transformed the very nature of work.
The word disrupted in the passage is closest in meaning to
A. prolonged
B. established
C. followed
D. upset
原句中hurt與disrupt是并列詞，含義類似，所以快速確定D選項(xiàng)。這層并列關(guān)系是逗號(hào)隔開的，在一些句子中，如果看到諸如also/as well as, both…and…, either...or..., neither…nor…, in (the) the same way, equally, similarly/similar to, like/just like, likewise(同樣的), while(與此同時(shí)), meanwhile(同時(shí)), not only...but also... , more...than這樣的詞也要明確存在的并列關(guān)系。
例2：Although limited to a skull, the Pakicetus fossil provides precious details on the origins of cetaceans.
The word precious in the passage is closest in meaning to
A. Exact
B. Scarce
C. Valuable
D. Initial
分析：
Although指示轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系，所以前、后半句是相反的含義，前面是limited，所以猜測詞匯是limit負(fù)面的詞，我們可以知道exact表示準(zhǔn)確的意思，scarce是指稀有的，和limit屬于類似的含義，initial開始的，詞義不相干。所以選擇C。
排除法猜詞
排除法中常用到詞綴分析，由于詞綴指示詞義方向，所以可以利用褒貶義來進(jìn)行排除。比如詞綴mal-，基本意思為“ill”或“badly”(惡、劣)。它可以與名詞、形容詞或動(dòng)詞結(jié)合，形成新詞;mis-是一個(gè)常見的英語本族語前綴，基本意思為“wrong(ly)”或“badly”，表示“貶低”。該前綴大多加在動(dòng)詞、名詞、動(dòng)名詞和形容詞前，描述或表示事情不正確。
