一般過去表現(xiàn)在，將來和過去的將來，過去的過去
1. 一般過去時有時形態(tài)上為過去，實際上指現(xiàn)在，用過去形式乃是根據(jù)時態(tài)一致的原則：
如：They told me that the rats were a real problem around here
他們告訴我這里老鼠成災(zāi)了。
2.一般過去時有時候可以表示將來發(fā)生的事情
如： In the years to come it will be a great thing for a man to say that i died here like a hero.
在未來的歲月里，當人們說道我在這里英勇犧牲的時候，那會是多好??！
As soon as you get it,mail it to me here.i will came on the look out .So Tom will never know it came.
你一等到它就寄給我這里，我一定留神不讓湯姆知道這件事情。
3.一般過去時也可以表示過去的將來發(fā)生的事情
如： They had to leave early as they started work the next day .
他們第二天要開始工作，所以不得不早走了。
4.表示“過去的過去”的時候，如不是強調(diào)先后，因果等關(guān)系，?？捎靡话氵^去時，這種一般過時多用于從句。
如：The boy said he was sorry for what he said.
那男孩說他對他所說的話感到懊悔
（said表過去的過去，用在賓語從句中）
在英語里“過去的過去的過去”有時候也可以用一般過去時表示
如：I was told that she had lived here since her husband died
我聽說她從丈夫死后就住這里.
（died 在這里表示過去的過去的過去）
5有時候，一般過去時是由所屬關(guān)系決定的，它可以屬于現(xiàn)在時態(tài)，將來時態(tài)和過去時態(tài)
①：從屬現(xiàn)在時
如： When the ball goes out of bounds,the referee decides which player touched it last
球出了界，由裁判決定是哪個運動遠使球出界的
②：從屬于將來時
如： How is your mother? 你母親身體怎么樣了？
Thank you .She's pretty well,sir 謝謝，她很好，先生。
Say we sent our renenbrances,will you? 代我們致以問候，好嗎？
③：從屬于另一一般過去時
如：What was his name?
你剛才說他叫什么來著？（= What did you say his name was?）

我不知道你在這里。
2.He told me that school (____) the following morning.(open)
他告訴我第二天上午開學(xué)

一般過去表現(xiàn)在，將來和過去的將來，過去的過去
