Say, there are great difference between our ages, but we share the same mother─children of all literature of Soviet union .
Judging the value and the authors' achievements is up to the readers. And commenting on a piece of works of literature is up to the critic.
敬愛的同志們，我覺得，提到高爾基的名字時，常常會加上一些度量的形容詞，如"偉大的"、"高尚的"、"高大的"等等。如果老是過分地強調(diào)和抬高一個人物，我們就會使別人的成就和重要性失去光彩，這一點，你們沒有想到吧？請相信我，我并不是故意講漂亮話，也不是裝模作樣。有許多重要的原因使我不能不說這些話。打個比方說，在這里，我們大家的年齡盡管相差很大，然而都是同一個很年輕的母親──全蘇聯(lián)文學的孩子。
衡量一個作家的成就，是讀者的事；說明一部文學作品的社會意義是批評家的事。
