Tales of Hulan River
Tales of Hulan River is an autobiographical novel created by distinguished author, Xiaohong. It was written in 1940, in Hong Kong. The novel has 7 chapters in total, with a preface from the honorable literary luminary, Maodun. Through the retelling of various figures and scenes of his hometown, the work expresses the author's denial of the social realities of ancient China's twisted and damaging views of humanity and human personalities. Simultaneously, it also depicts the customs and traditions of the Hulan River, in a little border county of northeast China, and demonstrates the unique artistic characteristic and attributes of female writers.
