strict
1. strict是形容詞,意為“嚴(yán)格的,嚴(yán)厲的”,可作表語(yǔ)也可作定語(yǔ)。如:
Our head teacher is very strict, but we still need many strict rules.
我們的班主任非常嚴(yán)格,但是我們還需要許多嚴(yán)格的制度。
2. 我們常見(jiàn)短語(yǔ)be strict with sb.,意為“對(duì)某人嚴(yán)格要求”,以及be strict in (doing) sth., 意為“對(duì)(做)某事嚴(yán)格要求”。如:
Mr. Smith is very strict with his children.
史密斯先生對(duì)他的孩子們要求十分嚴(yán)格。
We should be strict in (doing) our work.

look up
1. 表示“(在詞典、參考書(shū)等中)查閱……”。若賓語(yǔ)是名詞,常放在look up之后。若賓語(yǔ)是代詞,則要放在look up之間。如:

2. 表示“向上看”。如:
