分數、小數和百分數的讀法

    分數
    表示分數時，分子要用基數詞，分母用序數詞。如果分子大于1，分母必須用復數形式：
    1／3→a（one）third
    2／3→two thirds
    1／4→a（one）quarter（或fourth）
    3／7→three sevenths
    1／2→應讀作a（one）half
    ＊比較復雜的分數如：24／789，多讀作 twenty four over seven hundred and eighty nine。
    小數
    表示小數時，小數點前面的基數詞和前面講的基數詞的讀法相同；小數點后的數字則必須一一讀出：
    0．0089→（zero ／naught）point zero zero eight nine
    1．36→one point three six
    百分數
    百分數由percent表示，百分號％讀作 percent，應用時常與by連用。
    0．68％→zero point six eight percent
    6％→six percent
    369％→three hundred and sixty nine percent
    The output of steel went up by 20 percent．鋼產量增長20％。
    The price of cotton was reduced by 20 percent．棉花的價格下降了20％。
    The loss of water has been reduced to less than 30 percent．水的損耗減少到30％以下。
