小不同，大學(xué)問——英語表達常見錯誤辨析
（辦公室篇）
1. 我喜歡淡咖啡。
誤：I like light coffee.
正：I like weak coffee.
分析：light可以指顏色淺的，色彩淡的，但是不指口味淡。英語中，weak coffee指淡咖啡， strong coffee指濃咖啡。不加糖、不加奶的清咖啡是black coffee，加糖加奶的清咖啡是 white coffee。
2. 她是新來的。
誤：She came here newly.
正：She's new here.
分析：雖然漢語說的是新來的，但是在英語中，加上come就多此一舉了。只需要說She is new here.就可以了。 新來的：Someone is new here。
3. 我剛剛插上插座.
誤：I just put the plug in the socket.
正：I just put the plug in the outlet.
分析：美語中插座是outlet,英式英語中是socket。電器的電源插頭插入插座，用plug;拔出時用unplug。 插電門用put the plug表示
4. 我們初次見面 。
誤：It's the first time that we meet.
正：We've never met before.
分析：初次見面，最常用的說法是：We've never met before.（我們以前沒有見過面）。It's the first time that we meet.在日常會話中，并不是常用的。
5. 你是做什么工作的？
誤：What is your job?
正：What do you do?
分析：What is your job?在美式英語中并不被使用。而且，在英式英語中使用時也人給對方留下失禮的印象。這種用法會給說英語的人以類似被警察詢問的感覺，請注意。What do you do?是詢問對方職業(yè)的固定用法。而且，用Where do you work?表示你在哪工作？你做什么工作？也是可以的。
