1. although較正式，語氣強(qiáng)；though較常用?，F(xiàn)代英語中兩者可隨意換用。如：
Though he was tired, he went on working. =Although he was tired, he went on working.
2. although和though引導(dǎo)的從句放在主句前后均可，有時(shí)還可放在句中。如：
He often helps me with my English (al)though he is quite busy. 盡管他相當(dāng)忙，但是還常常幫我學(xué)英語。
Although many difficulties are still ahead, we are determined to make greater achievements. 盡管在前面的道路上還有許多困難，但是，我們決心要取得更大的成就。
3. although, though引導(dǎo)的從句不能與but, however連用，但可與yet, still連用。不能說：Though he was old, but he worked hard. 應(yīng)把but去掉。當(dāng)然，保留but而去Though也可。
4. though有時(shí)指假設(shè)的情況，不指事實(shí)，從句用虛擬語氣；although不能這樣用。如：
Einstein cared little for money, though he could have been very rich. 盡管愛因斯坦本可以成為非常富有的人，但他對(duì)金錢卻不感興趣。(though引導(dǎo)的情況是假設(shè)的而不是事實(shí)。）
He will never do such a thing though he (should) be forced to. 即使強(qiáng)迫他，他也決不會(huì)干這樣的事。（注意：不能用is）
5. though引導(dǎo)的從句，可用倒裝語序，即把從句中的表語或狀語放到though之前；although卻不能這樣用。如：
Young though she is, yet she is fit for the job. （=Young as she is, yet she is fit for the job.）盡管她很年輕，可她還是勝任這項(xiàng)工作的。
6. though從句的主謂語若是系表結(jié)構(gòu)時(shí)，可以省略從句主語和be動(dòng)詞。如：
Though alone, he is happy. 雖然他獨(dú)自一人，卻很幸福。
注意：Though loving him, I can not help him. 是錯(cuò)句。因?yàn)閺木洳皇莃e構(gòu)成的系表結(jié)構(gòu)作謂語。應(yīng)改為：Though I love him, I can not help him. 或Though fond of him, I can not help him.
7. though還可與別的詞結(jié)合使用，如even though, as though等；although則無這種搭配功能。如：
I’ll go and help them even though I stop my work. 即使我停下自己的活不干，我也要去幫助他們。
8. though還可作并列連詞，相當(dāng)于and yet（然而，可是），它引導(dǎo)的分句常對(duì)另一分句起補(bǔ)充說明作用；although則無這種用法。如：
I wouldn’t like to go to the evening, though they will invite me to. 我不想去參加晚會(huì)，可是他們要請(qǐng)我去。
