用作形容詞時，young很易和另一形容詞youthful混淆不清。
Young指“年輕、年青”，詞義范圍較廣，既可以用于人和動物，也可以用于植物、國家、政黨和機(jī)構(gòu)等詞；有時它亦可用作引申義，指“不夠成熟”或“缺乏經(jīng)驗(yàn)”。例：
