過去完成時(shí)表示過去的過去發(fā)生的動(dòng)作。
At first I thought I'd done the right thing, but I soon realized that I'd made a mistake.
(開始我以為我做對(duì)了，但是很快就發(fā)現(xiàn)自己犯了個(gè)錯(cuò)誤。)
The house was dirty. They hadn't cleaned it for weeks.

Ken gave up smoking two years ago. He'd been smoking for thirty years
(兩年前肯戒了煙，之前他抽了三十年煙。)
9． 將來時(shí)
一般將來時(shí)表示未來將要發(fā)生的動(dòng)作。
Look at those black clouds. It's going to rain.
(看那成堆的烏云，要下雨啦！)
I think the weather will be nice later.
(我想天氣一會(huì)兒會(huì)好。)
過去將來時(shí)一般用于主句為過去時(shí)的賓語從句中。
He told me that he would give up his job.
(他告訴我他要辭職。)
10. 情態(tài)動(dòng)詞
情態(tài)動(dòng)詞不能單獨(dú)作謂語，只能與實(shí)意動(dòng)詞一起構(gòu)成謂語。有: shall, should, will, would, can, could, may, might, must, dare, need, ought to, be able to, used to, 等。
We can see the lake from our bedroom window.
(從臥室的窗口可以看見那湖。)
I was so tired. I could have slept for a week.
(我累死了！我能蒙頭睡上一星期。)
Will you shut the door, please?
(請(qǐng)你把門關(guān)上，好嗎？)
Whenever Arthur was angry, he would walk out of the room.
