     B: Sorry, buddy. I’m a stranger here myself. Ask the conductor.
     A: Conductor. Can I get to Market Street on this train?
     C: Change at Roosevelt for the Woodlawn Line.
     A: I beg your pardon?
     C: Get off the train at the Roosevelt Avenue station. Look for the sign to the Woodlawn Line and take that train to Market. You can’t miss it.
     A: OK. Thanks.
     C: Step lively, please.
     8.侍者——客人
     Waiter: Are you ready to order now?
     A: Yes. I’d like the roast beef.
     W: Rare, medium or well.
     A: Well done, please.
     W: Anything else? How about some dessert?
     A: A piece of apple pie, please. That’s it.

     A: Hi. How are you? My God, these prices are ridiculous, aren’t they? I can’t imagine how you can make ends meet.
     B: Believe me, it isn’t easy. But we’re managing all right. Mrs. Johnson, I’d like you to meet my friend, Mr. Li. Li, this is Mrs. Johnson.
     Li: Hello. I’m very glad to meet you.
     A: Me, too. My husband suggest we all have dinner. How about this Saturday?
     B: That’s Oct 1st, I think, and we’ve been invited to the celebration given by the US-China Peoples Friendship Association.
     A: Oh, how nice. Well, what about the following Saturday?
     Li: That would be excellent for me. I really appreciate your inviting me.
     B: That would be fine.
     A: Good. That’s settled then. I’ll have my husband, Gerald pick you at your apartment at 6:30 on Saturday, the 8th.
     Li: Oh, that’s won’t be necessary. I can make it myself.
     A: Fine. See you around 6:30 then.
