A Long Way to Go for Women

Women, it is ture, have achieved much in thier efforts to win equal rights. But there is a long way to go before they can realize the final goal.
    Women today have indeed won much freedom. They enjoy the right to vote; they can go to university; they can compete with men in some professional fields. It seems that women are enjoying equal rights with men. However, if we look at the highest strata of society, we will see that most of the top positions, like company directors, judges, university professors, etc., are occupied by men. This is still a male-dominated world. But according to statistics, there is no great difference between the standards and quality of work performed by men and women who do the same work. So women should no longer be treated as the inferior sex. They should be given every chance to compete with men.
    The contemptuous attitude towards women have been formed over centuries. It is so stongly entrenched in the minds of people that even women themselves are more or less under its influence.
    It will take years of relentless efforts to get rid of it completely. So women still have a long way to go to win equal rights.
