字號(hào):

I've got a ticket for the Bob Dylan concert.
    Lennie: You're looking pleased with yourself. Have you been promoted?
    Kevin: I f only. No, I've got a ticket for the Bob Dylan concert.
    Lennie: Fantastic. You lucky thing! I tried to get one on the internet, but
    none was available.
    Kevin: No, they were only on sale at the box office. And to get mine I had to line up all day.
    Lennie: Still, I bet you think it was worth it.
    Kevin: Absolutely, I haven't seen him perform live for at least ten years.
There was a long line at the box office(售票處前排了長(zhǎng)龍)。 Admission to the exhibition is free, but by ticket only(展覽會(huì)免費(fèi)參觀,但須憑券入場(chǎng))。Ticket之后,常用介系詞for或to。你可以說(shuō)a ticket for/to the theatre/game/concert(電*/比賽/音樂會(huì)入場(chǎng)券)。引伸其義,a ticket to/out of是‘通往/走出…… To her, marriage means a ticket to upper class life/a ticket out of poverty(對(duì)她來(lái)說(shuō),結(jié)婚是通往上流社會(huì)之道/擺脫貧困之道)。
If only I had been promoted!一般而言,說(shuō)過去的事,if only會(huì)配過去完成式動(dòng)詞 (past perfect tense);說(shuō)現(xiàn)在的事,會(huì)配過去式 (past tense);說(shuō)未來(lái)的事,則配‘would + 動(dòng)詞’,例如:(1) If only he had told me!(假如他當(dāng)時(shí)告訴我就好了?。?2) If only I were rich!(假如我有錢就好了!)(3) If only she would agree!(假如她答應(yīng)就好了?。┻@類if only子句 (clause) 多獨(dú)立成句,但也可以加主要子句 (main clause),例如:If only he had told me, I could have helped him(假如他當(dāng)時(shí)告訴我就好了,我可以幫他)。
