字號(hào):

I injured.
(我受傷了)╱ I have an injury或 I’ve been hurt。 I have an open wound(我有一個(gè)明顯的傷口)、I have broken my arm
    George: Come on the game is about to start and we really need you.
    Bill: I can’t play today, I’m injured. Sorry.
    George: Where are you injured? You look fine to me, you’re up and running around.
    Bill: My ego has been extremely bruised, the coach really yelled at me at the last match. (Cries) I’m sensitive and can’t have people yelling at me. It hurts.
You?re up and running around(你生龍活虎一樣)。 My ego has been bruised(我傷了自尊)。 Her criticism badly dented my ego即 ‘她的批評(píng),嚴(yán)重打擊了我的自尊’。
An egoistic/egotistic/egocentric person cannot expect to have any real friends(自我中心的人,不用指望有好朋友)。Egoist(利己主義者)的反義詞是altruist(利他主義者)。He killed the snake for altruistic reasons是說(shuō) ‘他為別人著想,把蛇殺死’。 The new editor-in-chief seems to regard the newspaper as his own ego trip(新上任的總編輯,辦報(bào)似乎只為了滿足自己)。
    英文有成語(yǔ)up and about,意思是‘已經(jīng)起床(up)并四處走(about)了’,常用來(lái)說(shuō)‘不再臥病在床’,例如:He came down with the flu last week, but is now up and about(他上星期患感冒病倒,現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)康復(fù))。 (
