(1) 用來回答熟人或朋友之間無聊的提問，意為：問點(diǎn)新鮮的； 多此一問；我怎么知道；別傻里傻氣。如：
    A：Are you fond of birds, Uncle John? 約翰叔叔，你喜歡鳥嗎?
    B：Ask me another, Jim. Well, I suppose so. 別傻里傻氣了，吉姆，唔，我想大概喜歡吧。
    A：Then how old is the lady? 那么這位女士多大年紀(jì)了?
    B：Ask me another. 我怎么知道。
    (2) 用來回答一般性提問，意為：不知道(=I don’t know)。如：
    A：What’s the population of Japan? 日本有多少人口?
    B：Ask me another. 我不知道。
