Changes of Ownership of Houses in China(2003.6 & CET-6)一文的第2-3段為例:
Two main reasons may account for this situation. One of the reasons is the policy of the government. In the 1990s, the government carried on with its reform policy to support private houses programs. But it took time for the reform to come into effect. Therefore, in this period the change is little. Another reason is that from 1995 on the reformation took quicker steps, and people were getting better off and they could afford buying their own houses. So the number of private houses is on the rise.
However, such changes have had GREat impacts on individuals and the society as well. To the former, the change has enabled them to have more choices to enjoy larger living space, but the cost is working hard to make more money to buy it. To the latter, the more choice of housing may mean a big gap between the rich and the poor, and also some other social problems like speculating will occur. Therefore, it is hard to weigh the merits and demerits of these changes.
