Trainee-Patent Attorney職位描述:
Unilever has an international Patent Group located in the UK, USA, The Netherlands, India and China. The Patent Group looks after Unilever’s technology-related intellectual property interests globally. It is one of the Critical Function Capabilities.
Our China Patent Group, located in Shanghai, supports the China R & D organization, which includes over 450 individuals conducting research and development on global projects. We are looking for a Chinese Patent Attorney/Trainee for the Shanghai location.
This position reports to the Head of Patents, China.
Main job purpose:
You will be part of a team responsible for the protection of Unilever innovation by patents and for advice for intended product launches relating to clearance of third party patent rights. You will work closely with R&D colleagues worldwide to develop and implement a patent strategy tailored to internal clients and our businesses.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Draft patent applications and prepare response to office actions;
2. Conduct patent clearance search and draft clearance report;
3. Monitor patent-related legislation and prepare legal memorandum on Chinese patent law development;
4. Assist in the daily operation of the Patent Group;
Job Requirements:
• Advanced degree (preferably PhD) in chemistry (organic, material sciences, or polymer chemistry), biotechnology, or a related subject matter;
• Excellent English skills in writing, reading and speaking;
• Interest in legal matters;
• Previous experience with patents, either in a law firm or corporation, is an advantage but not a requirement;
• Knowledge of and/or experience in lab research is preferred;
• Strong analytical skills, strong communication skills, and must be self-confident in the interaction with a wide range of clients;
• Possess Chinese patent agent qualification, or be prepared to study for the examination.
