Position Summary
The Operations Engineer will be primarily responsible for deployment, implementation, hosting, on-going maintenance, and support of Schneider Electric’s web-based software solutions. Our computing environment is based on MS Windows, MS SQL Server, Silverlight, and IIS.
Essential
Degree or diploma in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related program (or equivalent experience)
Minimum of two years experience in a software operations environment
Expert practical knowledge of the Microsoft Windows OS family: Windows Server 2003, Server 2008
Strong knowledge of IT operations principles, including maintenance best practices
Strong knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, SMTP, DNS, FTP, HTTP
Experience working with SQL Server™, including operation, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Strong working knowledge of SQL with ability to write complex queries
Proven ability to learn quickly, multi-task and handle pressure to meet tight deadlines
Proven ability to take personal ownership of an issue and get the job done
Ability to clearly communicate an issue to the teams affected
Top notch interpersonal skills: you are team-oriented, positive, collaborative, have excellent communication skills, and work well with others
Strong English skills
Willingness to travel. Travel will be occasional but the successful candidate will be expected to attend 6-8 weeks on-the-job training in the USA
Desirable
Experience with the following tools (or their equivalent) for enterprise software platforms that interface with external devices (in our case power meters):
Communications (network, devices, etc)
Scalability (increasing number and variety devices for a given hw architecture)
Knowledge of tools which measure system state and performance, such as WireShark, Perfmon, etc
Experience using and implementing network security applications and devices including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPN devices, etc.
Experience using virtual machines in a production environment

Experience required :
a. 6 years of full life-cycle software development project experience, with at least 2 years’ project experience as software architect.
b. 4 years of project experience in building complicated Internet applications, or SOA-based multi-tier enterprise applications.
c. 4 years of project experience with web development technologies, primarily based on .Net Framework, including C#, XML, WPF, WCF, WSSF, WIF, ASP, JScript, CSS, Web UI, Silverlight, AJAX, jQuery, etc.
d. 4 years of project experience with OO modeling based on UML and design patterns.
e. 2 years of project experience with RDBMS and SQL programming.
f. Understanding and experience in large scale system development and performance tuning is a strong plus.
g. Understanding and experience in Internet security mechanisms is a strong plus.
h. Understanding and experience of script-based interactive web UI (e.g. with HTML 5 or DHTML) is a strong plus.
i. Understanding and experience of cloud computing technologies is a plus.
j. Understanding and experience of mobile application development on iOS and Android is a plus.
Languages :
a. Fluent English skill, both in oral and written.
