Reliability study of LED devices and modules
Department Description Philips Lighting has been one of the key business pillars in the 120 years his tory of Royal Philips Electronics Group. At the Global Development Centre in Shanghai, hundreds of highly qualified engineers are developing high quality p roducts at the right cost levels, to meet future market needs. Significant res ources are allocated to LED system developments.
Your challenge In the context of this internship project the candidate will study the reliabi lity aspects of LED devices and modules. Aiming to improve understanding LED r eliability, the sub-topics of this project include, but not limited to: invest igating the failure modes and mechanisms, designing, implementing and verifyin g accelerated tests, interpreting test results to the reliability performance under use conditions, etc.
Your assignment The project consists of a few phases: An introductory phase including literatu re study; determining the sub-topics to focus on; designing the experimental s et-up & conditions; data collection and analysis; developing and verifying rel iability models. There will be room for your own initiatives. And a final pre sentation and reporting are part of this project. Publication and IP generatio n are both encouraged.
Our offer You will have the opportunity to independently carry out a full experimental r esearch assignment with the constant supervision and guidance of the R&D staff . During the internship you will have the opportunity to extend your professio nal network and grow experience in conducting R&D work at an academic level in a business-oriented environment.
This assignment is suitable to do your thesis. Duration: 6 months.
Your Profile You are a technically oriented person, currently studying towards your Master s degree in the area of: Physics / Electronics / (materials or mechanical) Eng ineering.
