Microsoft Research Asia is recruiting interns for Stars of Tomorrow Internship Program.
微軟亞洲研究院是微軟公司在美國本土之外的基礎科研機構，被美國技術雜志MIT 《Technology Review》譽為“世界上最火的計算機實驗室”。 自1998年成立以來，啟動了面向亞太區(qū)高校博士生、碩士生和優(yōu)秀本科生的“明日之星”實習生項目。該項目由微軟亞洲研究院和國內外高校共同執(zhí)行，旨在培養(yǎng)高素質的計算機基礎研究人才。實習生進入微軟亞洲研究院后深入到每個研究小組進行為期三個月或更長時間的實習。截止至2011年9月，已有4000名來自亞太區(qū)高校的學生到微軟亞洲研究院實習，平均每年有400個實習機會開放給所有的學生。實習生項目的更多精彩內容，請訪問http://www.msra.cn/UR/Intern.aspx

Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for Hardware and Software students who are:
1. Exceptionally clever - Able to define new and interesting problem spaces as well as to distill them and propose simple, elegant solutions. Passionate and talented - Proven ability to drive an independent research agenda, and inspire/lead the broader team with your expertise.
2. Self-motivated - Anxious to design, build, and explore solutions on aggressive timelines. We are looking for scientists, designers, makers, doers, creators!
3. Willing to take risks and be different - Smart enough to know theres really no right answers (or problems) in research, and that good solutions often come from many failures. Willingness to work outside your comfort zone and learn from others. Constantly aware of the potential for improvement. Keen desire to build technology that plays a more meaningful role in peoples lives.
4. Able to play well with others: Comfortable in collaborative work environments. Willing and able to work with multiple collaborators to integrate various technologies and build out impactful user experiences. Good English communication skills. Humble enough to actively solicit and incorporate feedback.
Required Qualifications:
1. For Computer Scientists and related engineering and social science disciplines, we favor current PhD students, but will also consider strong Masters degree candidates.
2. Looking specifically for expertise in the following research areas (but always open to consider others): Human-Computer Interaction in general, mobile computing, hardware, haptics, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, etc.
3. For Designers, looking for independent undergraduate or Masters students with strong background and portfolio.
4. Reasonably proficient in English, bonus if proficient in Mandarin too.
