冠詞是一種虛詞，本身不能獨(dú)立使用，只能附著在一個(gè)名詞上幫助說(shuō)明這名詞的含義。英語(yǔ)中的冠詞有兩個(gè)，一是定冠詞the ;另一是不定冠詞，有兩個(gè)形式，a或an【a用在以輔音(指音不指字母)開頭的詞前，an用在以元音開頭的詞前】。
1.不定冠詞的基本用法
(1)用來(lái)表示“一”這個(gè)數(shù)量，意思和one差不多：
The plan will be ready in a week or two. 計(jì)劃一兩周內(nèi)就可定好。
(2)也可用來(lái)表示“某一個(gè)(類別——人或東西)”：
Even a child can answer this question. 就是小孩子也能回答這個(gè)問(wèn)題。
2.定冠詞的基本用法
(1)表示某個(gè)或某些特定的人或物：
Give me the book . 把那本書給我。
Where are the other comrades? 其他同志在哪里?
(2)第二次提到某東西時(shí)：
There is a book on the desk and the book is mine. 桌子上有一本書，那本書是我的。
(3)表示世界上獨(dú)一無(wú)二的東西(如：太陽(yáng)，月亮，地球，世界，天空，宇宙)：
the sun , the moon , the globe , the world , the sky , the universe .
(4)和一個(gè)形容詞連用，代表一類人或東西：
the rich(富人)，the poor(窮人)，the deaf(聾人)，the blind(盲人)，the dead(死者)，the oppressed(受壓迫的人)，the unemployed(失業(yè)者)等。
(5)專有名詞
