天柱山風(fēng)景區(qū)位于潛山縣境內(nèi)，是國(guó)務(wù)院在1982年公布的首批國(guó)家重點(diǎn)風(fēng)景名勝區(qū)，也是2000年公布的首批國(guó)家4A旅游景區(qū)和全國(guó)文明森林公園、國(guó)家地質(zhì)公園，2003年被評(píng)為“中華十大名山”，因?yàn)椤耙恢嫣臁倍妹?。主景區(qū)面積82.46平方千米，分為三祖寺、虎頭崖、九井河、馬祖庵、主峰、大龍窩、后山和龍?zhí)逗影舜缶皡^(qū)。每個(gè)景區(qū)都各有突出特點(diǎn)和風(fēng)光，有名景點(diǎn)多達(dá)400多處。曾受到詩(shī)仙李白這樣的贊譽(yù)“奇峰出奇云，秀木含秀氣”。

我們今天的第一站呢就是三祖寺景區(qū)，從縣城進(jìn)入天柱山的這一段稱為天柱大道。橫跨天柱大道矗立著一座高大的門樓建筑，這就是天柱山標(biāo)志性大門?！肮拍显捞熘健睅讉€(gè)大字是已故中國(guó)佛教協(xié)會(huì)會(huì)長(zhǎng)趙樸初先生寫(xiě)的，也是樸老生前的最后一幅墨寶。我們現(xiàn)在來(lái)到了三祖寺前的廣場(chǎng)。舉目望去呢，整個(gè)山形如一只振翅欲飛的彩鳳。
覺(jué)寂塔就建在鳳冠上，東西兩側(cè)逶迤的山岡呈環(huán)圍合抱之勢(shì)，恰似鳳翼護(hù)衛(wèi)著莊嚴(yán)佛地。三祖寺，全稱“三祖山谷乾元禪寺”，是中國(guó)禪宗三祖?zhèn)鹘?jīng)布法的場(chǎng)所，在中國(guó)佛教發(fā)展占有十分重要的地位。1983年，被國(guó)務(wù)院批準(zhǔn)公布為全國(guó)漢族地區(qū)重點(diǎn)開(kāi)放寺廟。
關(guān)于三祖寺的歷史這就涉及到天柱山的宗教文化了，我給大家講一個(gè)佛道爭(zhēng)山的故事。天柱山靈絕山水加上歷代帝王的加封，使之成為仙山寶地。天下名山分為36洞天和72福地，天柱山列為第十四洞天和第五十七福地，因此引起歷代佛道兩教的爭(zhēng)奪。
公元505年，梁武帝的國(guó)師寶志和尚和江南云游方士白鶴道人都奏請(qǐng)將鳳形山賜為己用，武帝知道他們法術(shù)高明就命他們各顯神通，以物為記“，物到哪兒就到哪兒居住。這寶志和尚就是我們所熟識(shí)的濟(jì)公活佛，他手握錫仗，說(shuō)：”貧僧以仗卓地為記?！斑@白鶴道人也不甘示弱，他的拂塵可以化為白鶴，說(shuō)：”貧僧以鶴止處為記?！罢f(shuō)罷，這白鶴道人將手中的佛塵拋向空中，化為一只白鶴，飛向鳳形山。濟(jì)公將手中的錫仗也投向空中，頓時(shí)化為一條巨龍，尾隨在白鶴身后，這白鶴飛向鳳形山上空，那條銀色巨龍突然襲擊，白鶴嚇得掉頭往東飛落在白鹿崗，濟(jì)公的錫仗則卓入鳳形山，當(dāng)他收起錫仗，卓土的地方立刻涌出一股甘泉，這就是我們現(xiàn)在的卓錫泉，又叫卓錫井。濟(jì)公在鳳形山開(kāi)山建寺，武帝賜名”山谷寺“。白鶴道人就在白鹿崗建白鶴觀，宋徽宗賜名”真源萬(wàn)壽宮“。唐宋時(shí)期，天柱山佛道兩教盛極一時(shí)，寺觀眾多，有”三千道人八百僧“的說(shuō)法。從寶志和尚開(kāi)山算起，三祖寺到2010年已歷時(shí)1505年了。
接下來(lái)我瀏覽國(guó)家重點(diǎn)文物保護(hù)單位--山谷流泉摩崖石刻。它位于三祖寺西邊的山谷間，有一股清泉石壁潺潺而下，常年不枯，兩岸野花閑草相伴，環(huán)境十分幽雅。唐宋以來(lái)，達(dá)官名士來(lái)游者摩肩接踵、絡(luò)繹不絕，留下不少名篇佳作。其中最引人注目的就是宋代政治家王安石和文壇巨子黃庭堅(jiān)的名作了。這首”水無(wú)心而宛轉(zhuǎn)，山有色而環(huán)圍，窮幽深而不盡，坐石上以忘歸“，就是王安石做了宰相以后常常惦念天柱山，而特地作的。
