C: Please sit down. I'II make some drink for you.
M: Thank you. You have a very cozy sitting room.
C : Would you prefer coffee or tea?
M: Tea, please.
C : Do you take it with milk?
M: No, a thin slice of lemon is OK.
C : Here you are. And help yourself to the dessert, please. These are apple-pies.
M: These pies are out of this world! Did you make it yourself?
C : Yes, I did. Please make yourself at home. Do you want some more tea or another pie?
M: No, thank you. I've had enough Let's go out to the garden.

/n/與/ŋ/在發(fā)音時很難區(qū)分：發(fā)/ŋ/時，舌后抬起貼住軟腭，軟腭下垂；而發(fā)/n/音時，舌尖緊貼上齒齦，形成阻塞，這時音標類似于漢語中的前后鼻音。如：
thin/θɪn/薄的—thing/θɪŋ/事情
gone/ɡɒn/去—gong/ɡɒŋ/鑼
lawn/lɔ:n/草坪—long/lɒŋ/長的
