[02:02.70]but we must be more careful when we use our water.
[02:07.06]Too much water is being wasted because we are using all the ways of watering our plant.
[02:13.41]We must solve this problem if we want to have enough water in the future.
[02:18.74]The best way to solve the problem
[02:21.61]is to use the knowledge and technology that some country have already developed.
[02:27.46]If we work together and share what we know

[02:51.18]Cars,factories and airconditioners pollute the air and the water,
[02:56.93]we must change the way we think and the way we live.
[03:01.60]Let's not drive if we can walk or ride a bike.
[03:05.65]Let's try not to use airconditioners more than what is absolutely necessary.

[03:57.32]The children of the world are disappointed,
[04:00.85]because too many adults are too interested in money
[04:05.58] and wealth to take notice of serious problems that are effect our future.

[05:19.87]Remember,we can not buy another planet
[05:23.92] and our lives and those of future generation depend on this.
[05:29.17]We are not asking too much.

[06:53.83]What is really in this bag?
    [06:57.07]Resources,possibilities,money,jobs,and solutions.
[07:04.72]What we call rubbish today is actually the resources of tomorrow.
[07:10.58]Let me tell you how we can use rubbish, some leftover food,

    [07:51.09]Part One
[07:52.84]A:Can you tell me about the project you worked on in Egypt?
[07:56.81]B:Egypt has developed a large program to clean up and protect its water.
[08:02.27]One of the projects is to help small farmers
[08:06.43]build small channels to make sure that the water supplied by the government
[08:11.89]can be used in the best way possible.
    [08:14.94]A:So,what was the problem?
[08:18.18]It was often difficult for farmers to keep the channels clean and in good order.
[08:24.66]The channels were used as rubbish bins
[08:28.29]and too many plants grew where the water should flow.
[08:32.44]A:How did you solve the problem?
[08:35.37]At first,we thought that the farmers simply didn't understand the situation,
[08:41.72] and that we could solve the problem by educating them.
[08:45.37]But just make sure we interviewed some farmers and observed what they were doing.
[08:51.44]A:What did you do to learn more about the farmers and their work?
[08:56.58]B:Well,we visited many farmers and their families,
[09:01.54]We also formed small discussion groups
[09:05.20]in which we talked about the problem and what could be done about it.
[09:09.64]A:What do the farmers think and do?
[09:12.52]B:We found that the farmers did know about the problem,
[09:17.17]and had paid a company to clean the channels.
[09:20.64]But they didn't do it often enough.
    [09:23.70]Part two
[09:25.37]A:Why didn't the farmers clean the channels often enough?
[09:29.73]B:They thought that the government was responsible for the channels.
[09:34.88]And they only clean them up when there was too much rubbish.
[09:39.55]They felt that this was unfair and didn't believe what the government said
[09:45.12]A:And how did the government react to this?
    [09:48.88]B:Well,they were very surprised.
[09:53.03]They decided to show the farmers that there were serious about the problem.
[09:58.20]Farmers and the government would work together.
[10:02.46]The farmers formed a group that would oversee the work.
[10:06.82]A special channel cleaning day was chosen and farmers
[10:11.79] and the government decided to share the costs.
[10:15.55]The farmers would pay for the cleaning equipment
[10:20.02] and the government would pay for taking the rubbish away.
[10:23.67]A:That sounds like a good solution.
[10:26.73]B:It was. Working together also give people a chance to understand the dangerous of throwing rubbish in the channels.
[10:35.87]It stops the water from flowing,
[10:38.72]and made it dangerous for children to swim in the channel.
[10:42.95] and for women to use the water at home.
[10:46.11]A:Were the farmers happy about the solution?
[10:49.64]B:Yes,they were. The project was a success.
    [10:54.47]By working together
[10:57.03]more things were achieved and everybody learned from the experience
