1. 表示“決心”“決定”，是及物動(dòng)詞，其后可接：
(1) 名詞或代詞。如：
We’ll have to determine a date for the meeting. 我們得確定會(huì)議日期。
The exam results could determine your career. 考試成績(jī)可能會(huì)決定你的前途。
(2) 不定式。如：
He determined to travel no further that night. 他決定那天晚上不再往前走了。
有時(shí)不定式前可用連接代詞（副詞）。如：
I haven’t determined what to do next. 下一步干什么我還沒(méi)決定。
其后不能直接跟動(dòng)名詞，但加了介詞on后則可以。如：
I determined on going abroad. 我決定出國(guó)。
