Learning, development and support
We’ll provide the support, tools and opportunities for you to drive your own career development. Your training will be carefully structured, with events and other opportunities to build your wider HSBC and financial IT knowledge. You’ll have regular access to senior leaders for coaching and advice, while constructive feedback will enable you to measure your performance. You’ll be assigned a mentor and buddy, who can offer guidance and support.

What you’ll need
To be considered for the programme, you will be a graduate who:
• Perform a mix of development, business analysis, hands-on designing, production support and face off to several user groups.
• Willingness to engage with business users and key IT stakeholders outside of direct area of responsibility and manage expectations.
• Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic and proven rapid learning ability.
• Strong commercial focus - sensitive to business needs and is solution orientated
• High standard of written and oral communication and strong presentation skills
What you’ll be responsible:
• Understand the business requirements and working closely with business users and IT teams to develop solutions/software to support the businesses
• Build, deliver and test applications using traditional Waterfall SDLC and Agile methodologies and perform regression testing on all devices.
• Mandatory to understand the security protocols as well as compliance and regulations.
• Understand the deployment procedure

Associate Software Engineer
Job Duties:
• Study existing systems
• Analyse requirements
• Produce detailed specifications of new and revised system components
• Develop programs according to specifications, in accordance with Group and Quality Standards
• Participate in System Testing
• Participate in the selection, installation and customisation of software packages
Academic Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree or above
• Graduate in Computer Science, IT engineering / Mathematics / Computation or a related discipline
Candidate Requirements:
• Good command of written and oral English, with a minimum of CET-4 or equivalent English level
• Sound problem solving capability (analytical and logical reasoning skills)
• Acceptable technical knowledge in system development
• Proven ability in project planning and control
• Good interpersonal skill and emotional stability (teamwork skills)
• Self-motivated with a strong commitment to a career in Information Technology

FAQ
1. Q: When will be the deadline to hand in my application?
A: The application will start at mid-September and end after the Campus Talk. The recruitment process starts simultaneously. Please submit your application at your earliest convenience.
2. Q: If your company does not visit my university, can I still apply?
A: Yes. While we host many events on and off campus across the world, there is a limit to the number of different universities we can visit. We actively encourage applications from candidates from all universities who meet our criteria.
3. Q: What information would be required to be presented in my CV?
A: Mandatory information would be your personal information, education and project experience. Other supplementary material, such as technical training certificates or competition certification, would be a plus for your CV.
4. Q: Will I required submitting both my Chinese and English CVs?
A: Yes. Please submit your CVs in both languages as attachments.
5. Q: I am currently overseas. What if I could not join face-to-face interviews in the 2nd half of 2015, am I eligible to submit my application?
A: We welcome applicants from any nationality and diverse cultural background. Video/audio interviews will be arranged for those unable to join face-to-face interviews at our office.
