有人請(qǐng)你吃飯，飯畢準(zhǔn)備結(jié)賬了，因?yàn)閷?duì)方?jīng)]有及時(shí)掏錢包，你就慢慢騰騰開始掏錢包，做出要付賬的姿態(tài)，這種情況在英語(yǔ)里就叫wallet threat。本來沒打算從錢包里往外拿錢的，忽然做出付賬的舉動(dòng)，錢包就受到威脅了。是不是很形象?
Wallet threat is the reluctant act of pulling one's wallet out as a sign of willingness to pay for a meal that was assumed to be a treat. Normally, this threat would be immediately cleared when the people who offered the treat in the first place paid for the bill.
Wallet threat(錢包威脅)指被別人請(qǐng)吃飯時(shí)，不情不愿地掏錢包做出付賬姿態(tài)的行為。通常情況下，請(qǐng)客的一方結(jié)賬以后，這個(gè)“錢包威脅”就立即解除了。
比如下面這兩個(gè)人：
