I strongly feel that parents should monitor what their children are watching for two reasons:
First of all, there is a lot of content in many shows that is intended for adults only. When I was a kid, my parents loved watching shows that talked about affairs, sex, and violence which would have had a bad influence on me.
Secondly, I think that children need to maintain a sense of innocence when they are young in order to minimize any traumatic experiences. I remember when I was a kid, I had this show that I loved to watch all the time but didn’t understand what was really happening. Then one day, I realized that this show portrayed people really hurting each other and it scared me to death.
That’s why I think that parents should control what their kids watch on TV.
