Do you like shopping?
Though I’m not totally averse to spending some time shopping, I’m not much of a big spender. Many of my friends want to shop till they drop, but I prefer not to tire myself out and save some of my money for other things.
盡管我并不是非常討厭購物,但我絕對(duì)不是個(gè)大手大腳的人。我很多朋友都是逛到筋疲力盡為止,但我不愿意把自己弄那么累,而且要留點(diǎn)錢作別的打算。
Is there anything you don't like about shopping?
The reason I don’t love shopping is the crowds. Whenever I go shopping, I get frustrated by the queues for changing rooms and tills. I only have time to go shopping on weekends, so I'm often in the shops and shopping centres at the busiest time of the week, which can be very stressful. Therefore, I keep my shopping time to a minimum.
我不喜歡購物的原因是人太多。每當(dāng)我購物的時(shí)候都會(huì)因?yàn)樵囈麻g和結(jié)賬排隊(duì)的人太多而沮喪。我只有周末有時(shí)間購物,一般都是大型購物中心的購物高峰時(shí)間,讓人壓力很大。所以我把自己的購物時(shí)間控制到最少。

Do you prefer shopping alone or with others?
It depends on the purpose of the trip. If I need something specific, I much prefer to shop alone. I find it is more convenient as it tends to make it a quicker process. But if my aim is to browse and to spend time with friends or family members, I quite enjoy shopping with others.

Do you like shopping for clothes or other goods on the internet?
I generally trying not to shop online for clothing, unless the shop in question has a very good returns policy or it is a unique item I cannot get elsewhere. For other things, though, online shopping is a very useful and convenient tool in today's high-pressure society.
我通常不會(huì)選擇網(wǎng)購,除非該店的退還政策特別好或者該店的單品別處買不到。不過,從另一方面來看,網(wǎng)購在當(dāng)今壓力巨大的社會(huì)中是種非常有用并方便的手段。
What are some differences between men and women and shopping?
When it comes to shopping, the biggest difference between women and men is the use of advertising. Women are socialised into thinking they need an unnecessary amount of clothing and therefore that they must buy it in order to be fashionable. Not all but many men are resistant to advertising, partly because men are not bombarded by fashion images to the same extent as women. Therefore, men fall victim to advertising far less than women.
