Ⅰ. lose “丟失、失去”語氣較強，一般指失去后不易找回;而 miss 指人們覺察到東西已經(jīng)“丟失”，含有可能找回的意思。miss 還有“想念”之意。而lose 則沒有。如：
① My grandfather lost a leg in in the war. 我爺爺在戰(zhàn)爭中失去了一條腿。
② We shall all miss you when you go away. 你不在時，我們都會想念你的。
Ⅱ. 作定語和表語用時，lose 用過去分詞 lost, 而mess用現(xiàn)在分詞missing.如：
① Who has found my lost pen?誰找到了我丟失的鋼筆?
② Missing book is found now. 丟失的書現(xiàn)在已經(jīng)找到了。
① My grandfather lost a leg in in the war. 我爺爺在戰(zhàn)爭中失去了一條腿。
② We shall all miss you when you go away. 你不在時，我們都會想念你的。
