Straw poll
On July 21, the United Nations Security Council conducted its first straw poll in the selection process for the next UN secretary-general. The 15-member council will hold several rounds of straw polling before the result is announced. Antonio Guterres, Portugal’s former prime minister, currently ranks first with 12 votes of support.
7月21日，聯(lián)合國(guó)安理會(huì)進(jìn)行了針對(duì)下一任秘書(shū)長(zhǎng)選舉的首輪意向性投票。安理會(huì)15個(gè)成員國(guó)將在結(jié)果正式宣布前舉行多輪意向性投票。目前，葡萄牙前總理安東尼奧•古特雷斯以12票的支持領(lǐng)跑。
馬上學(xué)：“意向性投票”指的是測(cè)試安理會(huì)成員對(duì)正式候選人的意向，并非為了做決定。關(guān)于投票的英文表達(dá)還有one-vote veto (一票否決權(quán))、differential voting (差額投票)、secret ballot (無(wú)記名投票)等。
